I've seen mention of that method, eschano. Do you switch back Sunday night or Monday morning? I had a good amount of sweets on the weekend, starting with Saturday breakfast. My planned Sunday treat was a no-go, the bakery was out and I didn't want any other available flavor. Just that right there: I...

Hi everybody! I truly thank you for your advice and support. I again binged on Friday night. I wonder whether 5 straight days might be too much for me and I'd be better off splitting the S days. I think I'll try that next week. Yesterday I enjoyed my treats and didn't go too crazy...just a little. :...

You threw away your wallet?! Wow, that probably would have driven me to the food, so extra congrats on getting through that mess! Since it's not part of the 14-word No-S rules, I don't think glass ceiling counts unless it is one of your personal goals.

Hi Airmail, congratulations on your weight loss! Looks like you've pretty much ingrained the habit by now. I hope you've adjusted to your new schedule too. I'm glad you posted again; when people disappear it makes me a little nervous about the program.

Swuddly, congratulations on your string of successes! I'm particularly impressed with how you dealt with the work challenges of offered treats and the dreaded potluck  !! You're a few days ahead of me and it's interesting to see how things are changing for you day by day.

Thank you all for your tips and encouragement! Yesterday was a successful day. I had some cravings but was able to calm them in part by walking (3 yesterday!), in part by prepping food (I really like to be around food  ), part with an evening drink (something I often do already), and part list...

Thanks for the tip, eschano! And for being there...these boards get a little lonely at times! Right now I like to do it in the morning, when I can go at my own pace; I'm building up my speed and distance, hoping to be up to a fairly comfortable two miles by around the 15th. BUT if I can add the even...

I am definitely in! This will be my first full month and will include driving from MA to Mexico with lots of stops to see things along the way. No idea how this will impact my eating, but I will probably add some S days to allow for trying regional foods. 1  2 :) 3 :( 4 - S Day 5 - S Day 6 ...

So here i am with TWO failed N days in a row! Ugh. I'm OK until after supper. The last two nights I had a definite WTF attitude and the "But I WANT it! " me was loud and vicious. I also did no walking yesterday; I'm supposed to walk my dog at least once, preferably twice. On the plus side ...

I'm glad this topic is still open for discussion. I just finished Episode 13 and found it quite profound. I'm about to listen to it for the third time, but I wanted to post about how much it speaks to me. Also I got much more out of listening to the podcast than from reading the script. Reinhard, I ...

Thank you aspencer27 and lpearlmom for your encouragement and for answering my questions! I won't worry about the drink before dinner. Friday, an S day, went fine until after supper, when I binged pretty much all night until bedtime. I may have enjoyed it less, but "enjoy" is not what I do during bi...

I moved up to a shovel today, weighs ~2.5 lb (unfortunately I don't have a digital scale). I had to limit some moves to less than 7 reps, but I had no pain. I did it for 12 minutes before breakfast.

i found it! I still don't know how I originally got there, but I took another look at my history and found it here. This is a good way to get started with SG, no matter what item of what weight you start with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7B_Fl4 ... 123867AAE5

Thanks for the welcomes! Yesterday I'm not sure about because right before dinner I had a beer. Normally this would be with dinner. Does this count as a fail? Is there a different term besides "fail"? Like I've read some others say, I don't like that term, way too loaded emotionally. Otherwise the d...

Video question from a newbie

Hey gang, this is my first week and I like this exercise better than anything else I've ever tried. Somewhere on the shovelglove.com page, or perhaps a link from it, there is a 14 minute video of Reinhard doing various moves. I like it because it's continuous and I don't have to stop to click on the...

One of the things I've done in the past is put that saved money in a "new skinny clothes" jar. It builds up fast! Now though I have clothes in a vast array of sizes because of course the skinny clothes never did fit for long. Unfortunately I got rid of several nice things because I'd given up, but n...

SUCCESS!!!!! :D I finished my taxes and as far as I know I only have to sign the papers after the accountant gets them ready. HALLELUJAH!!!! Made dinner too. I am completely exhausted and had a beer before dinner. Don't know whether that means a No S failure or not, but I don't care.

I'm a 66 year old woman with little upper body strength. I'm starting with a broom, weighs ~1.5 lbs. It's easy to swing around, doesn't stress any joints or muscles, and it's FUN! I have joint problems and was scared of hurting myself so I decided to start out very gently. i'll move up a pound or so...

Klutzy68's check-in

Hi, my name is Chris. I'm female, 66, 5'8", and weighed 223 on 9/17, BMI 33.9. I'll use that as my starting weight as I didn't think to weigh myself on day one, 9/22. Today is my third No S day. I do Shovelglove (with a broom) and walk my dog at least once a day. Monday was a success; Tuesday I was ...

I know this is an old post, but I have wrist problems too, and elbow, and I'm old. I'm very afraid of injuring myself and then not being able to do anything, so I used a broom with a thick wood handle, weighs ~1.5 lbs. I didn't know I should only do 5 minutes, and I made it through the full 14 follo...
