That’s the thing, Candace...snacking is habit forming, and so hard to limit, once you start. Even now, it’s a couple of hours before dinner time and I’m quite hungry. Definitely tempted to get a healthy snack. Actually I do have a Mod where I allow an apple in the afternoon! I definitely allow calor...

Re: Linda's daily check-in

Hi Linda, Glad to hear life’s going well, and I hope this tricky phase passes soon, where eating’s concerned. Maybe nothing works forever....maybe we have to keep on renewing our methods, tweaking and adapting according to how we feel and what results we’re getting. I’m sure you’ll come up with a ne...

Re: Octavia is finally checking in!

I dared to weigh myself this morning, and was amazed to see that I’m just one pound heavier than my lightest ever weight on No S! This rather imperfect Vanilla routine I’ve been following has been more effective at keeping my weight down than I thought. I’m really surprised at this, as I was sure I ...

Ah, thank you so much Margot. Such kind words. I am indeed feeling better today - has a good nights sleep, and it made a big difference. Hi from me, too. Hope you’re feeling better. Here in the UK, there have been many viruses around which have given people recurring symptoms like yours for many weeks, months even. Hi Auto, Hope you’re well. Like clarinetgal, I enjoyed reading about your top priorities. It is fascinating how some people manage to brutally trim down their lives, isn’t it? They seem to just do what they want, rejecting anything remotely timewasting. I sometimes suspect that these people (ie. mal...

I’ve also read Brain Over Binge. Although I’ve never been bulimic, I found Kathryn H’s thesis very helpful - the idea that there’s nothing wrong with the ‘patient’ psychologically. Thanks Larkspur! Auto, yes, stodge is one of my own personal favourite words, implying heavy, calorific food. It can be junk, but not necessarily highly processed. Another lovely day here in the UK. It’s like Spring, almost summer! After the run yesterday, I was aching all over. Hi all! Thanks for dropping by! For me, although the 14’ is short, it really helps with habit building. You can’t NOT have the time to do 14’. So it defeats excuses. I like it as a bottom line.
