Just read your post with the flounder and fresh tomatoes. Sounds amazing. I never got around to planting tomatoes this year and now I have regret and jealousy!

Well done on the long term success/stickability with the system.

Saturday morning now!

I got through my first week. Except Friday night we were in weekend mode and ate our dinner in front of the tv with wine. I ate 2 pieces of fruit after dinner was officially finished. So that was a fail, but I don’t feel too bad about it.

All that time at home with covid and now still a lot of working from home means I tend to graze all day which hasn’t been good for my constitution!

Hmm, I suppose I could have put it as an S day. But I think for me it is better to mark all unplanned eating etc as red. Even if I feel it is justified in some way. Otherwise I am very likely to start taking liberties. Successful Wednesday and Thursday. Sweetcorn is finally really cheap and plentifu...

All good yesterday. Red day today. One of my boys fractured his hand. When we got back from the hospital I was suddenly STARVING. Relief I suppose. I was making myself a hot chocolate to stave it off when suddenly a piece of chocolate was in my mouth. We watched an old episode of Buffy together to r...

Actually I would find 'no more than one per hour' challenging to stick to if I was out to dinner or a party. I will try to keep that one in mind.
Glad your new dog seems happy :D

I know what you mean about 'early days'. I feel the same. All the people who are Long-termers say it WILL work itself out. Of course, the ones for whom it didn't work itself out have probably left this site.... But I am with you. This system is good. Practical, social and kind of old-fashi...

Thanks oolala for taking the trouble! I appreciate it. I do have a reasonable amount to lose (see my BMI) but I have lost that before and gained it again several times so I am hoping the Long term view will work better for me! Perhaps I am slowly starting to feel I don't need to eat as much as possi...

On Friday night I was excited about the weekend coming. Now it's Sunday night and I'm excited about going back to normal days. A weekend of excess. My weight has stayed basically the same over the last 2 months but I'm pretty sure my tummy is growing. But not allowed to even think about mods until M...

Did you skip breakfast because you ran out of time?

My mum used to keep boiled eggs in the fridge to eat in these situations, but I am sure there are many glamorous solutions as well.

Good move on the afternoon meal.

It's good that you're trying! I have been wondering how you were getting on. At the risk of stating the obvious, remember to drink plenty of water, eat protein at meals and put any sugary thing out of sight. Sending good vibes.

I think I need to mark yesterday red. I was considering yellow because it was a public holiday but I hadn't decided ahead, so. Ate some cheese standing up while getting my lunch ready, then licked the bowl, then gave myself free rein (sp?) on the book club snacks. Colazione: riso negro, mango, uovo ...

Thanks so much for writing that up Queenie. What I have gleaned from reading the boards, is that we women with a bit of a dieting history often don't lose weight quickly at the beginning. People get through that first year because they have other goals, like establishing a normal relationship with f...
