Habit makes a huge difference here.

Burn into your brain that eating ends when your one plate meal is over and eventually your stomach will get the message.

It takes time for this message to sink in, but it will. Habit is slow but extremely powerful.

Catbert, a no-s veteran of 5 and a half years just posted her "new style" testimonial here:

http://everydaysystems.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=5112

She lost a significant amount of weight (30 pounds) but most impressive is how she's been able to keep if off all this time.

Catbert,

It's great to see you around here again -- especially with such good news to report (and such lovely pictures!).

Steep drops are nice, but nothing makes me happier than seeing sustained successes like yours.

Congratutions and thank you for sharing it here with us!

I love the idea, but Emeralds might be the wrong level of granularity for beginners. Seems like it would take a LOT of compliance to get to that level. Ditto a car. Fortunately, cash is also green. We need some moderation [no] sugar daddy to pay a dollar for each day of compliance. Perhaps financed ...

klauver, Welcome! Some questions to help you decide next steps: 1. Was your compliance was good this last month? If not, don't mod. Try for better compliance next month. I wouldn't consider a "results" inspired mod until at least a month on 100% behavioral compliance, preferably longer. 2. Keep in m...

From Reinhard's video of flip the lever, it seems that the momentum of the swing is doing a lot of the work. Yup. Doesn't bother me. Real world work uses momentum, too. There's a limit in shovelglove as to how much you can cheat with momentum because you have to "catch" the darn thing at the end of...

Now I'm confused. What if you've been counting for a few weeks, and each week has one, or two, failures. Would you recommend to keep counting? It sounds like you haven't hit 21 days of 100% compliance. If you still think the habit is worth forming, then continuing to count isn't a bad idea. Have yo...

I'd suggest getting one habit firmly down before moving onto the next. 21 days of 100% compliance is a good minimum threshold for assessing this. A solid month is even better. Knowing that "I have to get this habit down!" before getting to move on to the next one is additional incentive to really es...
