Excellent resolution, Operababe.

Your 6th floor office is a tremendous opportunity.

It'll take some effort up front, but you'll be amazed how it gets easier.

Let us know how it goes,

Hi Shell, No s is about establishing habits of moderation. This is hard to do. And it's hard in a different way than we're used to. "Extreme moderation," making an extra, unsustainable sprint of effort doesn't get us closer to the goal -- on the contrary. You had an excessive weekend -- I've had lot...

Form follows Fun

A lot of exercises require proper form. Those that minimize the importance of form tend to do so by sacrificing a lot of the workout value (nautilus machine vs. free weights). But form can be tricky. Shovelglove, at first glance, seems even trickier than free weights in terms of form. The movements ...

Nice one, Sledge. That does sound hard (in a good way). I remember how hard hammering up with a regular little hammer can be.

I'll try it out myself next week.

Welcome, Nielsio. A double hammer sounds a little unwieldy... you might want to consider using just one for now until you get the habit down. Building the habit and routine are harder than building muscle, and an unstable tool can make that tricky... though maybe I'm underestimating your mechanical ...

Striking vs. Catching

A bunch of people have posted about using their sledge to whack tires instead of or as a supplement to vanilla, targetless shovelglove, and I have to admit, I'd started to feel a little inadequate that I don't do this myself (though of course it isn't really an option, given my cramped living space)...

I need to get this habit calendar page up already... it could compute all kinds of stats for you. Dieting could be as fun as fantasy baseball.

Thanks for the great idea and keep us posted,

Sticking to a routine -- any routine -- is most of the problem. Shovelglove is very routine friendly, as these things go, but it still takes some serious effort to establish.

Welcome, Operababe!

I think this is mostly habit, and in time it will get better and maybe even go away completely.

Till then, the caloric drink/oil sounds like a reasonable choice. It'll knock out the blood sugar thing without unduly diluting the clarity of your habit.
