I need to eat fresh veggies regularly. I can tell the difference if I go too many days w/o.

That said, I can't really call it a craving.

I use a protein drink for the same situation just so I'm compliant with the drink part. I think the idea of throwing a spoonful of yogurt in a shaker cup with water is a good one. You'll get hydrated too, which is important for working out. The older I get the creakier I feel if I don't have somethi...

I agree with Noel. I generally don't snack on S days as snacking makes me feel ucky but at the beginning it was important to me to be able to do so. I now have a mod where I have S opportunities. I allow myself 5 - 6 during a week. I had seconds and sweets on Wed. and seconds and sweets on Friday so...

Lots of good insights here. We are hard wired to eat and to find it pleasurable. If we didn't, we'd go extinct pretty quickly.

Behavior CAN overcome biology but be patient with yourself. This is hardest when your habits are still just forming.

School food/real food

I think we as a people are still sorting out nutritionism and good eating. According to this article, the food program in Chicago Public Schools (CPS) does not add salt to its from-scratch offerings. Nasty, indeed. http://www.chicagotribune.com/health/ct-met-new-school-lunches-20110220,0,6830768.sto...

Hooked? Probably not.

But a lot of us here have found that after a while sugar isn't as enjoyable as it used to be. It's too sweet and the little zing that it gives you not really all that pleasant. So, cucumbers might start tasting better.

I think ideal weight should be determined by some co-efficiented metric of BMI, waist size, body fat %, muscle mass volume, eye color and shoe size.

Especially shoe size.

In other words, I don't think weight can really be determined by a formula.
