I remember being on a road trip with my then-boyfriend and we were having disagreements and tough feelings. I had always thought I was someone who could "communicate," but I was silent a fair amount. Yes, make the leisure, the sights, the sounds, the togetherness, the air, etc., the essence of the holiday. It might have made sense at one point in time when people ate quite conservatively most of the time to let go some on holidays, but our normal days (before No S) were/are hardly conservative. ...

No S can work if you are enthused by the idea of moderation, eventually on most days of the year. It is not something that responds to losing weight by a certain date. It works by a person discovering over time that she actually enjoys her overall life better when she's not eating as much as she use...

No there is nothing wrong. You are fine. Your body is tapping into its reserves. You just never needed all the food you thought it you did. It was habit and a ton of other cues we have to eat. I purposely pushed the envelope of hunger tonight. Usually I do it only during the day, and this started to feel a tinge difficult. I realized an old thought of the unfairness of it started to form, but I also realized that is a false idea. It was the unfairness that made it seem hard. But it's not ...

I really don't think it's laziness. I think it's just letting the natural human desire to eat and even overeat to mask that you really want something else that you can't get if you keep overeating, and that it's really a fair trade off. It's very easy to think it's unfair that we have to face down o...

If I understand it, it's the ratio that's important. I guess you can't access the numbers online? I have Kaiser, and they post all my lab tests. However, for your purposes, it's not bad to truly feel you have a health incentive to decrease the dependence on sweets and overeating. That's what I call ...

It's a mod, but mods are "allowed." You determine what green is. I do not like dark chocolate and wouldn't "waste" any eating on it. I envy people who find it lovely. But I put cocoa in all kinds of things and add a whoosh of stevia. That's probably not officially okay, either, but here I am. I try ...

BTW, what was your "good" cholesterol level? My cholesterol has actually gone up to a level I never thought it would, but my ratio of good to bad is very good. My doctor claims my odds of heart disease are very low. However, I don't push the envelope much anymore with the content of my eating. Not e...

So many members on my Spark team on bingeing really resist the idea of giving up snacks, so fearful that it will MAKE them binge later or inhale their meals, or whatever. It can make them WANT to, but that's not the same thing. (Mostly, I interpret that they just don't want to put up with the experi...

Yes, we'll all get the book, and start a thread just for it, maybe here.

But I wonder what "bright line" we could use to aspire to.

I distinguish between hunger and desire. They're quite clear for me. I know most people lump them together and it muddies the water. (Some people literally can't tell the difference. They REALLY need No S and a divided plate.) Most of the time people say they're hungry, they're basically just "jones...

I want to go back to how I felt when I first did No S when I didn't think about food constantly or binge and I was so happy. I actually felt pretty happy with my body. I think I keep putting off starting No S again as I'm 10kg heavier and I know the weightloss will be slow. But it beats continuing ...

Honestly I'd be happy to lose 15 if it would be painless. Wouldn't we all... I hope you're willing to have a little "pain." :P P.S. Consider giving yourself permission to be an idiot on S days until you're really sick of it. It may turn out to be unnecessary, but at least it can help quell the fear...
