I found a long email in my outbox to you. This is a different box than the sent box, which means you didn't get it. I haven't looked at it very carefully to see if it might have too much overlap with a post I put on another thread you started about WW back in 2016. How is Vanilla Light going?

outbox

I've discovered that some PM's I've drafted and sent got put in an Outbox and are still there, weeks, months, and years later, but I didn't know it. (This may account for why I didn't hear back on some of them.) Why might this happen? Does it mean I always need to check my "sent" box to see that a e...

Just because it goes away doesn't make it fake. In fact, real hunger comes and goes as the body taps into its stores. Fake hunger usually comes and goes, too, if you wait long enough. It's usually more of a desire for "fake" foods.

The body is MADE to tolerate bouts of a lack of food.

When those are your options, it can sharpen resolve.

I've actually prepared some possible topics to divert the conversation to if a lot of diet talk comes up.

And it's okay to vent about diet culture here!

Yeah, the protein thing is controversial to me because what is recommended to build muscle is higher than some of the longevity experts' recommendations I've read. Many sources don't identify what low protein, moderate protein, or high protein is, either. One of the last articles I browsed on it sai...

I would aim for two days a week of a long overnight fast plus the equivalent of one decent meal on the "down" day. But I don't see that coming in the next few weeks.

Did I say that here? I'll write you separately. I don't think I said three days as I've never targeted that.

I would not recommend any fasting beyond that between three meals until a person is VERY sturdy with Vanilla.

And some of that activity should be resistance work. I really wish I had done it. Even at my BMI, I'm at nearly 30% bodyfat, and I doubt I'd be there if I had done my 14 minutes with some weight while I was losing. :D But it's your call. And I wouldn't chuck the program over it either way.

I've had my bodyfat measured at various points. The percentage is rather high, and hasn't changed much, meaning the loss of muscle and fat have been at about the same rate, instead of a higher proportion of fat. It's possible a different ratio of macronutrients or something eating related might have...

Ok, this may sound mean but just give them time. You can never tell what shape someone will be in two years from now. Feeling bad is part of the cycle, meaning it reinforces the habit. Do your best to keep focused on the cruddy physical feelings and not the self-recrimination.
