I didn't like it as much as Anne Barone's books, though she has little fame, and William Clower's. But they can be awfully snooty about food (and bodies). But I sometimes get contrarian, never really understanding why a few people get so much attention for similar ideas. Aee you looking for guidance...

I HAD robust hunger for a few years, but it ebbed and I have been feeling annoyed at the edges for a couple of years. I am now doing some rather non No S stuff, and it feels at least temporarily like I've slipped into a higher gear. I have no idea if the other shoe will drop, but this feels the best...

I believe a period of lack of debate is a possible foundation for little experiments later. They can go smoothly or not, but down deep, you'll know where the North Star is.

Noni, I couldn't believe I had never looked at your thread, especially after I suggested one to you. Your journey has been poignant. I was curious because I've been experimenting with single low carb meals as well but for appetite correction. I'm not vegetarian, though I've cut back, and have wondered how real people do it without animal sources. I see single recipes on the net, but I like better when I see everything people have...

I'm surprised the meal out was so big! And that that was what the family wanted. I think of the French as turning up their noses at English cuisine, fish and chips in large quantities. Guess I had it wrong. Or did they think you would like it?

Ah, the world before diet Pepsi's reign.

I hope so, too, E50! Now don't get triggered by this entry. I have been coming to the conclusion that there is substantial advantage to eating a LOT less food, as long as most of it is very high quality. I think it would still be an advantage even if the body did not lose weight. The loss make s it ...

Up to you. On Spark, there is team for maintenance where I tried to get a thread going devoted to maintenance of habits, not scale weight, but it fizzled pretty fast. It was unrealistic, I know, since the whole site is actually devoted to weight loss, though they try to sell themselves as targeting ...

Decreasing dense foods and adding veggies is in effect lowering your calorie limit without having to count them. I think it was fair to load the plates with heftier food before. Perhaps now you can begin being willing to brave feeling some desire or hunger. You don't HAVE to do it every meal. this w...

They were NEVER meant to be binge days permanently. It was just supposed to be a way to get it out of the system. I'm sorry I missed what the stimulus was for the "low carb" push. It sounds like you are still eating more than 100-150 grams of carbs a day, which I thought was the upper limit of low carb. Is it certain starches you're actually decreasing or leaving out? Was it that you wanted to see if eating dif...

It really takes several weeks of maintaining a weight for it to be a real new weight. The benefits of these new habits go way beyond the scale, and they are what will make this sustainable. I gently recommend you give them LOTS of attention and much less to the scale.

Yeah, being an idiot on the WW carb cycling wouldn't be sanctioned, though calorie theory says that if you wanted to eat 500 calories one day so you could have 2,500 the next, and have them average out to 1,500, it would work. But I tell ya, eating 2,500 calories in a day sounds awful to me now. I'v...

I suggest you don't try at this point to schedule the cutting of carbs. Being more random means you won't necessarily be able to see obvious results in weight or even physical condition, as I believe it's hard to know if the effect of any meal is the result of the most recent meal or a combination. ...
