This is a tough one. Even after all these years, there are some foods I have decided not to have on hand. I might have them in social situations as part of a meal. I have too many fond associations of eating a lot of them at a time, even though I don't "need" more of the taste. I WANT more of the ta...

I wish I wanted to live in Utah. I own a little not-so-charming duplex in Cedar City and get newsletters on real estate to just watch the prices. (It's small and I never understand why people there don't just come here, but I think Spark needs it, so I do it. ) There's way to post a quick message to the team without it starting a new thread. For awhile, I was posting quotes from the book. I could find ...

As a pretty much recovered compulsive overeater/binger , I have to say I'm on the side of thinking that there is value in NOT getting so stressed out at the idea that you might binge. A binge on an S day is not a sign that you will always binge on an S day or that you are a terrible person. Unless y...

Yeah, probably if I bought some furniture that didn't look like it belongs in a dorm room or first apartment, it might inspire me. (I still have a buffet I bought in 1985. Begin, I started at age 56. No S seemed like a great blend of the various proposed remedies for compulsive overeating without all the psychological stuff, which had not really helped. I haven't read all the posts, but as an ex-binger/compulsive overeater, I'd say not to worry about plate size at first. You're not out to lose weight to start, though you might. What are Hula Hoops? I think we are cursed with so many options. I marvel that there are people like Reinhard who just fell into the rhythm of No S and seem so impervious to either negative food influences or self-criticism about transgressions. Could he actually be so rational about it that he thin...

Not that you asked, and you don't have to tell us but possibly review your list of original motivations- or make one now, if you never did. If you feel you're giving up too much of something you value and not getting something else you also value with No S or any eating plan, there's always going to...

The macronutrient ratios tend to be routine except for breakfast, which can go anywhere from nearly all carb to low carb, but is usually my smallest volume meal of the day. I tend to like Indian and Middle Eastern food, so I use commercial sauces or spices to flavor the meal components and have thos...

You'll see a ton of what people here eat if you browse individual check-in threads and find people who record their meals, as there are quite a few of them. Then you will get updates when they post until you decide to quit following them. Also check out this thread https://everydaysystems.com/bb/vie...

Wow, that's big. Even Reinhard isn't against apps, if they make something onerous easy. But it's the "principality" of the thang! The slim of the world do not count calories! They practice habits of moderation! I will do just about anything to be one of them! Even my suffering will be moderate, dang...

I believe tight clothes is how the slim cultures judge that their overeating has gotten out of hand. Sure 'tis better if it doesn't get that far, but if it's from just a few days, in my experience, it's water. There's no way a calorie deficit explains the drops I have after a few days of moderation....

Due respect to all, remember not to be too taken with examples who have not maintained for two or more years. The world abounds with people who in the beginning stages of this or that program lost and say they will never go back to their old habits who eventually did go back and gain all their weigh...

i never ate at night because I was hungry. I just wanted to eat! But eating a substantial dinner proved to me that I really didn't need food. If this is still an issue, consider letting yourself off the hook for a week or two. Plan for something small and of course not a former binge food. You can e...

This may be way too much, as I'm not known for brevity, but I'm going ahead. I have dealt with anxiety for years. I am not fantastic at it but I rarely eat over it anymore. I gently say you must become willing to test out whether those feelings/sensations are "too" intense. Too intense for what? Wha...
