I tell myself: Be firm/strict before you slip and gentle/forgiving/dispassionate afterwards. In the end, it's easier not to have the food than it is to either have or try not to have the mental shenanigans afterwards. It's almost never a free lunch.

I've had a fair amount of success fasting between three meals on N days, and eating carbs the whole way (as do the long living, non-obese people of the Blue Zones) . Which is why I'm on No S.

Hang in there! You deserve all the benefits that will come from your efforts. Crank up the a/c and do some planks, squats, wall sits, side planks, working up to 30 sec each and adding up to 14 min. Short bouts of simulated rope jumping are good, too. YOU can do it!

Keep track all you like! It's all about habit. If it helps you establish and solidify the meal habit, do it. If it doesn't actually do that OR makes you crazy, drop it.

Two days a week is a good start! Just keep inching your way, getting through one more "fast" between meals, or a day with no sweets, or whatever. You'll either get better at it slowly, or likely get exasperated and bite the bullet. It's can be hard, but it's not TOO hard. :lol:

I think putting on muscle is possible, but if it were easy, there wouldn't be a jillion sites telling how to do it. Thankfully, being fit and living long don't require it.
