Depends on how long you were green on No S before making this mod. And also, if it "works" or not. If having a little dessert on Monday keeps you green T-F, and you aren't an idiot on weekends, then it's likely working for now. And broccoli is not subsidized, as corn is. It's the subsidizing of particular crops that lend themselves to processing. Having another anxious day over procrastination. It's okay, though. It's just part of the mix of my life. Just felt like acknowledging it. Maybe someday I'll figure it out as I feel No S pretty much helped me figure out food. It turns out there are a lot more even more uncomfortable things to me tha...

I had gone through a lot of legalizing all foods before No S, so I never had N day meals of all processed foods. I rarely have a meal without freggies. For years I had protein at most meals but I guess things have balanced out, as I can be satisfied without always having animal protein now. (For var...

How I ate in the first year is not the same as how I eat now, 40 lbs. lighter. I wanted bigger meals and overate on weekends. Now N day breakfasts are very small, lunches rather small, dinner moderate to big. S days have gotten quite moderate but vary in meal numbers and content. Small to me is 1-1....

Ellyn Satter wrote of saying when and what kids eat; they decide how much. She emphasized that eating time should be eating time. Kids sit down and concentrate on the food. No carrying around food and eating it while playing or other activities. French children eat only one snack a day, around 4 p.m...

I'm coming down on the other side. I've seen people who ate three meals and a snack at the time they found most challenging regularly for quite awhile before it became more natural to skip the snack. One of those people, who is retired, is now having some 2-meal days on several days a week by choice...

Noni, sorry if I'm repeating myself, but I implemented a mod on S days after a couple of years or more of wild S days and it has worked quite well, in my opinion. I was sick and tired enough of the S day overeating that I finally was ready to surrender to a mod. My worst issue was sweets so I made t...

Yes, please be sure you have impaired glucose tolerance before you start treating it. :) Nothing can protect everyone from every possible malady, but I'd bet that if you wanted to spend a lot of time looking at it, you'd find that moderation protects most people against most degenerative diseases an...

All of this is why I take my "evidence" from large "samples": Italy and France, the countries with two of the lowest average BMI's in Europe, a region whose low count can't usually be attributed to a high degree of poverty. Until recently, neither of those cultures was a consistent snacking culture....
