Have you made a list of reasons you want to get your eating more moderate? And do you read the list several times a day for now? I'm telling you, it helps. Yes, you do turn it upside down and the butter doesn't slide out! It's lighter than the water, so the pressure is for it to continue to press up into the "lid." Plus, it stays solid enough against the porcelain to stick to it, like a spoon with butter on it left in a dirty dish with cold water in it...

With all due respect, I think those are reasons to commit to moderation, not being sugar-free, necessarily. The French and Italians have much better health profiles than we do, but they aren't sugar or even starch-free. They just enjoy food in many ways other than eating it.

If you can get 20 minutes in, that's awesome! Even a few 5-minute bouts on other days that look more packed can help. Your work-commute schedule sounds crazy. Is that 5 days a week? What do you do? You must be very important. Keep believing: I CAN outlast the urge to overeat. I had a good mea...

Bugs for breakfast?

Wonder how you felt after awhile after dinner. I'm amazed sometimes how satisfied I feel an hour after eating.

You know, consistent moderate exercise does as much if not more to reduce the risks of heart disease and diabetes as weight loss. Keep trying to do well with eating, but if you get some walks or something else in a few days a week, you'll be doing a lot for yourself. Here is an excerpt for an articl...

What is going through your mind just before you start to overeat? Where do the thoughts of your health go at those times? Researchers have found that when people are trying to change habits, at moments of crisis, they tend to overestimate the pleasure they get from the habit they are trying to restr...

Keep going, zoid, and keep being honest about how much you really need at any meal. It doesn't mean you have to live by it, meaning it's okay for awhile to eat more than you need. I think it's better when you recognize it, though. Eventually thoughts and actions will coincide.

I hate to say it, but when it gets painful enough, the problems will either fade or you'll become willing to do something you weren't before. It took me a LONG time to be willing to change my habits on S days. I wanted them to become carefree with no attention, which does happen for some, but I don'...

Just some thoughts: French women don't eat differently during pregnancy. They don't eat for two, they don't think of it as a license to overeat, nor to gain much weight. (They also chillingly believe that a woman who gains too much during pregnancy deserve it if a man strays while she's "fat." But t...

One problem is that it's not actually tasteless (though ironically not taste-ful, either.) It's actually intensely flavored, either salty or sweet in a way that masks the real flavor of the food. (Actually a combination.) This has been found to increase intake, and that makes money because it's chea...
