There are good middle ground options. A few weeks ago, I happened into a supermarket when they had just cut fried fish and a turkey mealoaf deli items 50%. I got the entrees of about ten meals for ten bucks. I went home, cut the loaf into slices, and froze everything. I also look for high fiber brea...

Hi, Amy. Yeah, I wish I was one of the those people who has become pretty carefree and unmoved by food, but not yet. However, I know I'm so much better off than I was and better off than so many in our culture. I even read a book this past year that was called Stop Gaining Weight. So many people wou...

Sounds like a good plan. I like the idea of being able to have a sweet sometimes at work and sometimes not. You can accommodate that since you sometimes work weekends. I don't know if it would mess me up not to just have a hard and fast rule about no sweets at work; I think if I worked on Saturday, ...

Yea, I like hearing about the rebuttals to the URGE thoughts, even when it just seems like repeating. Most of life is repetitive! Including crappy sleep patterns. Fell asleep at 8:30. Sometimes sleep through but I'm a bit frantic about grading and have been up since around 1 a.m. Got online to input...

Regarding WW and how people can stick to something so strict-- most can't or don't in the long run. If you read some of the older check in threads, you'll see that some people evolve to actually eating very small meals, almost like diet meals, but not because they're diet meals. It's because they ge...

Ouch, that is a little complicated. Is there any 1-2 hour window morning, mid-dayish and eveningish on workdays that you ccould eat in no matter what the work hours? It does seem that there should be a way for you to have an evening meal at evening time no matter how late you work. In other words, i...

I've been at this for 28 months and it IS the way to live. As you've gleaned, don't be in a hurry to get to eating the least you can. You will eat less as time goes on after hundreds of plates. I've come to the conclusion that I am expecting a sweetness to life that I used to look to food to fill. These days, I can usually shift my thinking (that life isn't sweet enough in the moment of the URGE) and see that things are actually usually fine, even when there's trouble. I'm okay in that mom...
