I gotta open my big mouth and say 5 lbs. a month might be asking a lot. Let's say you eat on S days only the amount to maintain your weight. It would mean on the other 21 days (we'll allow 9 days for weekends in a 30-day month), you would have to undereat by or burn off (or a combination of both) 83...

I went to an event last night at which I could have eaten delicious food that I would normally love to get, but I wasn't a bit hungry, even though I had eaten lunch at around 1 pm, and an extra cookie around 4 pm. I chose not to eat even though I "could" on an S day. It wasn't that hard and I felt m...

I'm on your side. If looking at it your way spurs you to action, I applaud you! Sorry if I seemed unsupportive. I know people get their motivations in lots of ways.

Hope you're having a great moderate New Year's Day!

Congrats on getting the weight off and keeping it off for a year, no matter what you did! (UNless you were suffering every day.) No matter what plan allows us "free" food, in the end, we need to eat moderately. May I gently ask why you think you ate too much fruit? Just because you could? In my own ...

Whatever boosts your metabolism will be trumped by the power of habit and responding to what works for your body and social life. I've found I can play it by ear and it doesn't disrupt the rest of the day at all.

I wasn't hungry at all today, though that doesn't mean I forget about food, unfortunately. I decided to have lunch anyway at 1 pm and then had several of my favorite (these days) cookies. Unlike the past, I didn't even want to pick all afternoon. I had one New Year's even plan fall through already, ...

Hooboy, things got worse spirit-wise yesterday when I attended my maid's funeral. Can a funeral make it seem like someone's life was better than it was? I found myself comparing. It came to me recently that what I really have to work on is my self-criticism. I finally saw that I had replaced my abject disgust with myself over eating issues with the same feeling over other issues, most commonly now the paper clutter (mostly) at my house and in my garage, and my (in my mind) u...

I've read that the average dinner plate was 9" in the 60's. Seems almost impossible now. I have this size that I've taken to using but I think they'd look awfully small for a dinner party, not that I entertain that much.
