I think one of the differences between us overeaters is thin people expect to eat a lot sometimes and don't think much of it. This is hard to explain and why I started the thread. It doesn't make sense but for the first year I felt compelled to eat because I could. I was deathly afraid that if I didn't, I would lose it during the weekday N days because I hadn't gotten my yayas out. Sometimes, that did happen. As I said, th...

IMHO, Kessler is a little too dogmatic about avoiding those foods. If you know ahead of time that they are going to make you want to eat more, you can eat moderately, enjoy what you have and either leave or take home the rest. I sometimes ask for the doggie bag/container at the beginning of my meal....

I just happen to be up. I remember when I would actually start eating chocolate at midnight. Then I read on another site that recommended something similar to No S not to count the new day until breakfast time. Thankfully, it's not that bad an issue now! I hope I do as well as I've been, but I'm not...

The metabolism does slow, but I can tell you from the 50+ Maintainers team I lurk on at Sparkpeople.com there are many older women who finally take off weight even after a lifetime of being overweight. I haven't asked how many of them are past menopause. I've noticed things getting better lately for...

BTW, here is the link to one of the photo essays: http://www.time.com/time/photogallery/0,29307,1626519,00.html I don't know how to make it a one-word link. another product: either mugs or T-shirts that have before and during pics on them along with the logo. But not regular T-shirts for women. V-ne...

Nice project, but I find routine things in my visual space disappear. When I've had a few more months of tame S days, I'll get the cup and flaunt it. I don't think I look good enough quite yet to have strangers or even most colleagues do more than give me a polite nod. Those who know me better know ...

Thanks, Pangelsue! I think I wrote to you on your thread. I was browsing obituaries about Charlotte Joko Beck, my Zen teacher, and was reminded that she wrote a book called Everyday Zen. I had forgotten about the serendipity of it until I went to tell someone on another site about Everyday Systems. ...

I don't eat all real food, either, but a lot. I think moderation works on all foods, if we are aware of what we're doing, but I would say I do feel more satisfied and best with mostly whole foods. However, I use commercial sauces just about every day and I feel great with them. It doesn't take much....

Thank you, everyone, for your kind thoughts. It isn't really sad as much as poignant, and as you say, I feel I will always have her, since she played mostly the role of a very wise teacher. One of my friends is going to print the picture that was sent to me, so I'll have that, too, to remind me. I h...
