What about your two meals doesn't seem like enough? Are you hungry in the morning but just in too much of a rush? Is there a fridge at work for milk? You can keep a box of cereal (I'm partial to Fiber One mixed with the Trader Joe's high fiber cereal) and some nuts at work all the time so that you d...

I'm trying to imagine what would make me think it was worth it to eat only 500 calories a day and then how I would do it! If someone else kept me very busy and also kept me away from the food...oh, being in prison, that would do it! I know of a woman on another site who did lose weight using the pla...

not getting daily checkin updates
I'm set to follow daily checkins of a few no-S-ers, but they aren't showing up. I was browsing some of them today and saw that, yes, I am designated to watch the topic, but I'm reading the posts for the first time. Anyone know what the issue could be?

I gotta say, I'm not sure what the right question is because I am a binger and it is not often that I don't "want" food. Even if I'm sitting stuffed and bloated, I can still want food. But I have certainly gotten to the point with No S where I don't still keep eating it as often or get to that point...

N of the Damned: you call that an infraction to feel bad about? See, if you had just let yourself eat the dang plate of stuffing and say, "hey, it was a plate, so what if I have a little soup, too? I rarely eat a whole plate of carb. No biggie." I wonder if you had, would you have felt compelled to ...

Ditto the no guilt, esp. on day 6. Actually, guilt might never be what you want to incite, but after 6 months of 3 meals a day and no weight loss, you might at least consider how dense your foods are and how full you need to be, if becoming a moderate eater is your goal. It's just very hard for me t...

I'm almost to my first perfect N week in quite awhile. I still had an urge to ruin it about an hour ago. Habit. Done with the people-contact obligations of work and it's a Friday. But I've made it to 4:30 pm, so I think I'm safe. I sent the rest of this as a reply to a message in my inbox and I'm po...

I lived in Iran back in the late '70's. Iranians used pressure cookers every day. I've never lived without one since, though most people I know think they are either dangerous or just don't know what to do with them. They had brands there we rarely see here. I have a Presto and one very similar to o...

Welcome back and see how it goes. The research shows that most who lose on low-carb end up living a moderate carb life in the long run. Most maintainers gain a few pounds and then stay there. You may find that your meals are more low-carb than they were before low-carbing. I know Volumetrics, the Zo...

I've never had to go six weeks on soft foods/liquids, but I've been very satisfied for about the same amount of time as from eating solid foods when I pureed cooked veggies and grains and added either cottage cheese or plain protein powders plus olive oil or other monosaturated or omega-3 fats. Surp...

At the risk of alienating the women here by posting a link to a pretty provocative female exerciser, but who is freakishly strong as well as thin, so I give her her props, here is a link to a program that posts a free daily workout that a fair number of people seem to swear by. I've watched many of ...

I have definitely worked out consistently over several months and had great success. These programs do seem like an advantage because you're not having to guess and I'm assuming they have it figured out what body parts to push on each day. I didn't keep it up, though. Why not try doing 15 minutes of...

I think there can be a lot of confusion over what it means to "want" something. There are many S days on which I "want" to eat all day long and I do. I'm not very happy at the end but it doesn't stop it from happening. I think each person has to figure out for S days what is a good enough reason to ...

picture records work better than written ones
Here is a link to a study on a different kind of record keeping of food intake. It reminds me that when I first started looking at this site, one of the participants had pics of her meals for about a year! She stopped posting because she felt she had learned to eat moderately and wanted to give her ...

I'm serious that you, Reinhart, should consider something like that to market. If Pet Rocks could make someone money, an Air Snack Bar could, too. Or Wisdom Snacks. On another site, women were sharing their favorite snacks under 150 calories. I said mine favorite one was air, although I did share my...
