Ten months for me, and I plan to stay with it. It was about losing weight at first, and that remains a goal. However, it is now more about maintaining the healthier lifestyle that I have developed. This includes both eating patterns and exercise and a different attitude toward food.

Great post Janie! There are parts of this that I could have written about myself. I also watched my weight climb...gaining 20 lbs in 2010. I also avoided the doctor but have gotten over it. Lastly, I have remembered how good it feels to exercise. I try to mix in different types of exercise, and I wi...

Thanks for the comments! It always feels good to receive encouragement. Sweetness is right. I follow the basic diet with no extra restrictions but also with no bending of the rules. I was lucky to find a plan so well suited to me. I do not keep a food log. I know how to eat healthy and try to incorp...

I am definitely with everyone else that this forum helps me stay focused. Some days I scan quickly and other days I read and post a lot. However, I am checking in almost every day unless I am out of town.

Welcome back!

5K today (This race is a prostate cancer benefit.) In 2007 I did this same 5K, and I walked it all. I had a mediocre time of 53:23 (17:14 per mile pace). Nonetheless, it felt good, and it prompted me to start running again. I have done this race and several others every year since. I gradually got b...

I also have a strong belief in God and believe that self discipline is a virtue; however, I do not believe that God judges us by our weaknesses. He judges us by our strengths. So...when I was failing in the area of gluttony, God did not judge me. I also found that true Christians did not judge me. H...

Good for you. I like to see the weight loss figures. I know that not everyone does No S for the weight loss, but that is why I got started and why I have stuck with it. I get really hungry at work by lunch time. I have solved this by having my toast and peanut butter before I leave home and taking my banana with me to work and eating it there. If I am busy, I forget to eat it and it ends up being part of my lunch. This was an unintentional habit that started becaus...

It sounds like you are getting more fit and developing more muscle which is probably more important than losing weight. Good job!

PS: And I did notice that after a long plateau, you have also lost some weight recently. It all adds up.
