Thanks Amy and Roxy! I am excited about this month and revving up for vacation. I am working out of town and have only one hotel choice that is on my employer's preferred list and has rooms available at the rate they will pay. It is not bad, but the breakfast is. Choices are minimal: microwaved panc...

Hi Amy. Thanks for stopping by! The Achilles is healing. I have been more diligent this time with stretching and icing and I am sticking with walking. I was worried briefly about whether I would even be able to walk the half, but I am sure I will if I am careful. I am happy to report a 2 lb loss on ...

Good luck staying away from the scale. It is not easy!

Try not writing it down and not posting it if you do slip. That is what I do. I have one official weigh in each month. The exception is going to the doctor.

I agree with the idea of eating pretty and tasty food as a way to avoid permasnacking. I need to get into the mode of doing this. I need to stop eating so much convenience food. As long as you have the right perspective on the weigh ins, I see no problem with weighing as often as you want. At the beginning, I was sabotaging myself with the scale. After I did the monthly weighing for a while I was able to gain perspective. The scale no longer controls me. It is simply one to...

I have read that this is the only diet that starts on the maintenance stage. It teaches you to be moderate and to establish good habits. It teaches you not to keep gaining.

I would just give it time and be moderate with your weekends.

When I am on vacation I try to stick with a 3 meal format without snacks or seconds. However, some meals tend to be larger and more indulgent. In addition, I allow myself one sweet a day.

I do not track or obsess, and I mark my habit cal yellow. I do not worry if I stray. I just do the best I can.

Eat what you want. Just concentrate on the basic habits. You will find that you will naturally moderate the content of your meals. Nobody really wants grease 3 times a day. Once we are told we can have it, we learn to eat it when we really want it.
