Just Not Gaining Weight

After a certain age, just not gaining weight can take effort for women. Maybe men, too. I know that some women still have little problem losing weight and for some nothing seems to work. Then it becomes an issue of how much you're able (and willing) to do. The woman who wrote the article has made so...

Have you considered that your body might be swinging wildly in the opposite direction to having been starved/binged for some time. It may need time to settle down. I agree with this, too. Since that's been your way of life since you were 13, it may take longer than you would like for things to sett...

America's Obsession with Weight Loss

I saw this piece on The Today Show yesterday. I very much liked what the woman in the pink sweater (I never saw that she was identified) said: "The message that's being sent is that you will be happy if you look like these women, when in reality the only thing that can actually fulfill you is being ...

I understand the *theory* behind snacking being good for you to maintain blood sugar levels. With some exceptions, that's exactly what it is -- a theory. Diabetics on medication will need to eat to keep blood sugar from getting too low. Hypoglycemia is equally as dangerous -- and more quickly -- as...

Wosnes, have you asked at your bottleshop whether they can get some organic (usually very low preservative) or preservative free wine? I've known for a long time that I'm sensitive to sulfites. I'll drink a glass of wine and soon I'm stuffed up. My kids tease me about it. Starting at Thanksgiving, I've noticed that shortly after I start drinking wine, usually before I'm done with the first glass, I'm short of breath. It happened ag...

As far as the weight loss goes -- you just have to give it time. You're used to plans where you consistently lose 2 pounds (or more!) weekly and that just doesn't happen on No-S. And, as I recall, you don't have much to lose.
