You will get used to not eating when others eat. Skinny people do it all the time and they rarely give a second thought to making any excuses. I think your plan sounds good. You could also say you were starved at lunchtime and ate plenty then. In recent times, I've sometimes said something like, "I...

I would say don't worry about this. There are a number of reasons this could be happening, including that you might be eating significantly more at meals to make up for not snacking.

Breakfast: old-fashioned oatmeal with a handful of raisins; a banana sometimes, too. Lunch and dinner: a full plate with an animal protein, lots of veggies, some starchy thing, like potatoes, bread, noodles, etc. Between meals, I like a cup of de-caf coffee with a little milk in it. Well, for me it's bread. Not oatmeal or rice or pasta. Bread. My breakfast and lunch are usually light. I will still be hungry if I don't have bread. Nothing else does it for me.

I'm not generally a breakfast eater, but I do eat it on occasion. Something I've noticed is that the smaller my breakfast is, the more moderate my eating the rest of the day. The larger the breakfast, the more I want to eat throughout the day. I'm much more likely to have the desire to snack, even t...

There are three types of grapefruit - red, pink and white. Where I shop, it's always labelled so that you know which you're getting - some people find the white ones too sour. It sounds like you're going through a typical phase. My two cents is that you should stick to vanilla No-S: let N days be N days and S days be S days. If you are not happy with the specific choices you make on your S days, then think about it and make some changes. Don't dwell on guilt; try to lear...

S-days, with the possible exception of just a few times yearly, were never meant to be days to go wild. They were meant to be a time to relax a little. After some time on No-S I decided to forego regular S days on the weekends. I found I was eating things I didn't particularly want to eat just becau...

Local Food

I found this web site to help you find local foods in your state (or from surrounding states). If you can still find it, the January issue of Martha Stewart Living had a great article about vegetables and fruits, eating organic (or not), eating locally. As evidenced by the web site above, unless you...

That ricotta one especially sounds heavenly ... do you think this is something you could mix up ahead of time, or should it be mixed fresh each serving? Laura L I mix the cocoa and sugar ahead of time and sprinkle it on the ricotta (or yogurt) when I'm ready to eat -- takes all of a second. Maybe.

I also think it's nuts that those trainers actually are glad when contestants lose that much weight weekly. Can they really believe a person burned 10 x 3,500 calories in a week to lose 10 pounds?
