Oh boy, that was confusing of me :) I meant my soda glass ceiling doesn't include tonic for vodka tonics :) Straight up is a bit too much for me and it's my bar-drink-of-choice. Not that I get to have it much more than 2x a month if that. Well, it's so difficult to tell. I used to drink coffee that ...

Yesterday afternoon was pretty touchy for a few hours. That was my prime snacking time, so I know it's going to be a tough (but satisfying) habit to break. Well done for sticking it out! Remember also: if you manage to replace the habit with a psychologically satisfying new ritual it's even easier....

With a lot of headache ELW  No, seriously, I had pretty bad headaches the first two days. Once they subsided that scared me enough to not want to get back to my daily coffee routine, although I will be drinking it from time to time. Love the taste and an espresso after an S day dinner is a good...

Hey MerryKat! A lot of great insights in these last two posts.

Just for the record: I do weigh daily, I just learned slowly not to care but I do think not weighing is better if it influences you a lot.

Also, delighted about your bloodwork.

Best of all is just charting behavior, not results. Habit theory says track the target behavior. and cheer all victories, no matter how small. I totally agree with that oolala! I think grothkat stick to recording behaviour. I am the same with when I see a new low on the scale I immediately eat swee...

Hiya, I think it's wise to take it a habit a time. Reinhard talks of monthly resolutions instead of yearly ones where you get one or two months down solidly before you add another. NoS is a big one on it's own. So as someone who just kicked the diet pop habit: it makes it easier to stick to NoS as y...

My answer would be: It all depends. What is your starting weight and height (the less you have to lose the slower and the smaller you are the harder if you have 11" plates) and are you sticking to one plate per meal? If you have a lot to lose and you have been sticking to NoS properly than weight lo...

We barely ever get take-out. If we want something quick and easy we get a £1.50 pizza from the supermarket's fresh section. We go to the restaurant once or twice a week, which is quite a lot but figure that take-out is a bit of a waste of money as it's nearly as expensive as a restaurant without th...

ELW, you are doing great! Don't let the clothes discourage you. As for the hunger: often people misinterpret thirst with hunger. Are you drinking enough water and herbal tea? I wonder if part of the reason for permasnacking in the past was that I just didn't feel psychologically very satisfied from ...

Thank you auto and ironchef! I think there is consensus for giving up diet soda. I told my boyfriend today that I'll keep it up so that's a bit of a commitment. Going on holiday in Austria next week and will definitely drink coffee there. It's a pervasive coffee culture so that's going to be fine. Y...

Hi Tracy, don't worry if you have a hard time or even have a red day. It took me a year and a half to be able to spend all day at home and have a green day. Until then I used my NWS days for those situations. Anyways, well done for staving off snacking most if not all of the day!

Well done tobiasmom for not giving into the emotional eating! This is where your habits are tested but also gain real muscle. Good luck with the move! I certainly have up and downs when it comes to my appetite! Just load up your plate, realise your body needs slightly heavier meals for now and go for it. As soon as you don't feel that hungry for your next meal anymore ease up again. At least that works for me!
