Try reducing the grains. It was the key for me and the weight fell off after that.

Hi Staffy - Interestingly, toward the end of the podcast the author (a long-time feminist) speaks directly to your comments. It was almost as if she had heard you! :-) I'm particularly interested in HRT for its protective benefits against osteoporosis (as much as 50% reduction in risk!), since I hav...

Agree about the food planning thing. Critical to green days for me is planning out the WHOLE week in advance. I already know what I'll have for each meal, for the most part.

I keep wondering about applying more N day rules to them, creating more rules and mods, but I think it would backfire. I agree. Focus on N Days. If you are gung-ho about wanting to see some sort of weight change, I would perhaps suggest that you consider go stricter on N Days, whatever that means f...

I think some of these "old" threads resurfaced, thanks to SpamALot. We've deleted most of them, but they brought old threads to the forefront. In a way, it's like a little gift from the SpamMonsters, kind of like finding an old childhood picture while you are cleaning out a closet.

My early S days, I couldn't wait to go back to my usual style of eating and grab food out of the pantry or fridge throughout the day. It was really difficult not to eat between lunch and dinner or after dinner. Now "grazing" feels really odd. I might add a planned snack mid-afternoon on the weekend...

I'm probably the only one who thinks this way, but S days are S days whether I have an S or not. Remember the SOMETIMES part of the rules. So talking about taking non-S days isn't the way I think about it. When I'm compliant, if I don't have an S on S day, it makes no difference for the rest of the...

Never forget that what's " allowed " and what gives you the benefits you desire may not be the same thing. Long term weight losers on just about any program will adjust over a period of a few years, and sometimes again later as needs change. This. Oh, and I'm one of the milk drinkers in a pinch (of...

Re: "but what do you do if you get hungry?"
I think one of the reasons people don’t want to get too hungry is because they’re convinced they will overeat, and there is some evidence that they do, but that’s what getting used to moderate meals is about. This has been one of the slower-to-learn lessons for me, but as I read your post, I realiz...
