Although I've happily grown out of much of my healthy eating rebellion, I still enjoy NOT having veg on my S Days. Haha

Oolala, I am so glad you went to see your niece and got to experience seeing those lists! I really don't have words; I'm amazed and grateful for this small gift for you in this difficult time.

And Yay for your coworkers that thought to get you flowers! Yes!

Thanks Cedar and Linda! Linda, your question prompted me to reflect a bit on where I am at and how weight loss affects/doesn't affect mental health. I DO feel better about myself. I feel more confident and prettier. I feel LOTS healthier and proud of myself for feeding my body with good nutrients - ...

I'm so glad your hair lady noticed and gave you some love. You totally deserve it and don't get enough of it!

And - yes, I definitely know better when I'm full when I'm not eating sugar. Glad you had a better day.

I guess I don't eat sugar on N Days at all. Not really since January except for little blips when I go crazy.

Yeah, great to hear about your standing desk. I still don't have one but think the time is approaching.

AWESOME about the massage. Go you!

Good for you to go see your parents. I was thinking I should do that for Thanksgiving. I hope you find something yummy on the road.

The first thing I would say is that you are experiencing a big schedule change, and that takes a long time (dare I say at least a couple months) to adjust to. Second, I just want to encourage you that your family (and your husband, and your mil) will be fine. They'll adjust too! Third, start spendin...

You guys all rock. Thanks for the encouragement and suggestions. As a kid, literally every story I wrote was about horses. Haha. Maybe I should branch out. Honestly, writing a children's book might be the closest to my alley. As most of you know, I'm a sucker for the kids' books. I sort of dream of ...

So told Sexy43 let's knock off work early, pick up the kids early from school, and go see Christopher Robin. After tha...

Thanks Linda and Jen. I continue to wax philosophical about my place in this life. Teaching IS a hard job, but it has many perks that make it difficult to imagine doing something else. As I ride my bike to/from work, I work through various scenarios where I find a different career. Honestly, if it w...

My "default" lunches have made me feel a bit thrifty too. It was great to work through all the frozen stuff for smoothies (kids' breakfasts) and my lunches (nuts, frozen berries).

Always good to catch it early. I was realizing that when I eat the same things everyday (which I don't exactly, but theoretically speaking, haha), then I can easily adjust up or down on amounts if weight goes up or hunger goes up too much. If only we were machines with straight up formulas (just kid...

I definitely keep my exercise commitments for weekdays and don't require anything of myself on S Days. Sometimes I am very active anyway on the weekends, but try not to feel guilty on my super slothful weekends. :-) I usually figure I truly needed the rest.
