I think throwing out the baking stuff is actually a really good idea. Or.....just cut the recipe in 1/2 and acknowledge you're going to eat all of it on your S Days! :-) I think once you get used to not having sugar on a regular basis the cravings during PMS will also become relatively less horrible.

Wednesday, September 12th Linda - I put the name of the book on your thread before I posted here. It's called "Controlling Your Drinking" by William Miller. 132.4 morning blood pressure: 110/72 out of glucose strips again - those things are expensive, too! NoSEating B: coffee w/milk L: (will be) yog...

Great names for your family, Linda! :-) Love 'em! I'm not settled on mine yet, but it's fun to play around with them! The book I'm reading is called "Controlling Your Drinking" by Warren Miller. I just happened to find it at the library a couple days ago. It's nothing revolutionary, but it is defini...

Oh no! Don't get sick again dear body! Sometimes I give my immune system a pep talk -- c'mon neutrophils, you can do this! Kick out those viruses at the door! Lots going on with you, but glad to hear you felt less frumpy. And a hair-do! Yes! Good thinking. My husband doesn't buy the stinky cheeses (...

How fun for you all to play tennis!! My husband LOOOOOVES it too. :-) He even plays for-fun tournaments at work once a year. And he takes the kiddos (and neighborhood kids, too!) sometimes. Cedar - I totally think we'd be best buds if we lived near each other. 8) You make such good meals consi...

Sunday, September 9th 132.8 S Day! I was noticing my eating yesterday for lunch was so typical of my old S Days. For the past couple months, even my S Days have been healthier food choices. Not yesterday. A bag of popcorn for lunch? Really, Auto? Oh, well, it IS an S Day - and without NoS I'd proba...

Again to put conversations on poor Octavia's thread -- but Linda -- your weight loss journey is simply amazing!!!! 210 down to 150's. That is just wow wow wow. But also how interesting and revealing that even when we lose weight, we are still....ourselves. We still battle our same old battles and mu...

I can look saucy and sassy in a cocktail dress. Lol, this is like Bridget Jones!! And the feeling frumpy -- grr -- that seems to be a cyclical thing we women go through. And getting over being sick I'm sure intensifies it, as you mentioned. I hate that feeling, and I can't seem to control it....

they think they know best, and twist anything you say, so it’s far better to just say stop arguing. Such a good point, Octavia. I am learning how true your words are, but I guess I just didn't expect my children to be so manipulative......lol egg on my face. Maybe KidsWithLimits will really end u...

Thanks for the encouragement, Jen. Big sigh. It's been a tough week. So many politics at work this week. I had hoped to escape it, but alas, it was like a wave of poison. Even though I was interrupted SO MANY times today, I just decided to leave at my normal time because I need to keep that boundary...

Thanks Linda! It actually is the older one that got the grounding! The younger one just got sent to his room. Isn't it funny how the fight happens right when we show up???? I like your thought that it is normal sibling behavior. It certainly was in my family. However, my husband's family -- they all...

Wow - great conversation about exercise and everybody's thoughts. I think if there's any way to have it built into the rhythm of the day, or part of something that HAS to get done (e.g. walking a dog, walking/biking to work) - that's my personal only chance of success. Argh, I feel like a DownerDebb...

Advice please -- my older son constantly aggravates his younger brother for his own entertainment (he is 3.5 years older and much more precocious and a foot taller). The younger one (my 9 year old) has gotten to the point that he has a hair trigger and just totally flips out and then can't control h...
