I think throwing out the baking stuff is actually a really good idea. Or.....just cut the recipe in 1/2 and acknowledge you're going to eat all of it on your S Days! :-) I think once you get used to not having sugar on a regular basis the cravings during PMS will also become relatively less horrible.

Hi Azalea! Don't be too discouraged; we all have to find our way (and then OMG we have to find it again, and then find it again...... -- your title of "journey" is so true!) I noticed that you return to the theme of being a bit confused about the best eating style (you even mentioned in your very fi...

Thanks Cedar and Azalea! Linda - you are so right, I get a bit of a shiver to imagine being in the 120's. Not the goal, but it is the dream, lol. I know I'm kind of IFey with often skipping breakfast, but if I am hungry for breakfast, I definitely have it. It's not something I'm requiring of myself,...

Hi Cedar! I guess you could define my new way of eating as low-carb, although I avoid mentioning that because it could be polarizing. It keeps my blood sugar perfect, and my blood pressure came down too! And, the biggest surprise was that by cutting out the filling pastas & breads, I had more room i...

Wednesday, September 12th Linda - I put the name of the book on your thread before I posted here. It's called "Controlling Your Drinking" by William Miller. 132.4 morning blood pressure: 110/72 out of glucose strips again - those things are expensive, too! Great names for your family, Linda! :-) Love 'em! I'm not settled on mine yet, but it's fun to play around with them! The book I'm reading is called "Controlling Your Drinking" by Warren Miller. I just happened to find it at the library a couple days ago. It's nothing revolutionary, but it is defini...

So neat to hear that Habit is Queen for you, especially when you were beginning menopause!

Slack is good. You're building habits that will last you for decades to come, so these are just bumps along the way. Things will settle relatively soon, I bet.

Hugs, Linda.

Stress is a great way to make it hard for us to moderate our eating. With everything you've got going on, plus this shift in your eating window -- sounds difficult. Hang in there.

And you know I'll tell you your mini-melt-down was just what your heart needed.

I think if there's any way to have it built into the rhythm of the day, or part of something that HAS to get done (e.g. walking a dog, walking/biking to work) - that's my personal only chance of success. Argh, I feel like a DownerDebb...
