Prediabetics on NoS?
Hello, I was curious if there are any NoSers that have prediabetes? I have been pondering whether 3 meals a day, for someone that has impaired glucose tolerance, will help or hurt their situation. My fasting blood glucose pre-NoS was in the 90's; it was 103 this morning. I'm not sure if this is a fl...

I'm embarrassed to even suggest this, because it reveals my own unhealthy eating habits--but I don't gain on the weekends because I eat the stuff that I crave as an actual meal--not in between. So I end up foregoing much regular food (e.g. lasagna), and instead just have a milkshake for dinner. Hehe...

I have noticed a pattern in which I am not overly hungry for a couple weeks. During that time I usually skip breakfast without planning on it. On those days my creamy coffee is plenty. Then I come out of it and I'm ravenous for a few days. During those times I eat breakfast and then my regular lunch...

Grothkat, I enjoy my frequent weigh-ins, for the most part. It's just kind of a habit to weigh in the morning before I get dressed. So I know lots of people recommend breaking the weighing habit, but there are plenty of others who weigh regularly and don't feel the need to "break" that habit (I woul...

Thanks Lori and minimizer for the suggestions and encouragement. Minimizer, a friend today suggested I consider a sort of...self-hypnosis/meditation/breathing exercises CD. It is about 15 minutes long. That seems like a big daily time-commitment, but if it helps me sleep better and eases my "knots",...

Thanks for the work-stress suggestions, Imogen. I think I've just got to be extremely determined to not let myself dwell on these things. Re: the snacking, that's my philosophy on weekends, too. I really avoid it, although I wouldn't say I forbid it. Like your work comment, I just try to focus on th...

Thanks, Linda. I appreciate the kind words. And I love the quote. Reminds me a bit of the quote jw told me about, something like "nobody can make you feel bad about yourself without your permission" or something like that (Eleanor Roosevelt?) Anyway, thanks. Cool news about the Marathon. Re: measurements, there is always a bit of subjectivity to that, for sure. My frustration with measurements is that I think some days I am unconsciously pulling in my tummy a little, which of course affects the measurements. Other days I almost push out my tummy, becaus...

Oh, Imogen, sorry you got sick from too much sugar. I think that's how my kids are feeling after Easter! :) I have a work-related question for you: do you have a suggestion for not bringing home the stresses of the office? I don't know if there's ever anyone that's not happy with you at work, but do...

Sweetaj, I LOVE my NoSpending on weekdays plan. It has worked beautifully since the end of December. You can always have built-in exceptions (for example, today I had to pay for a car repair), but the main thing is to get rid of the egregious offenders (like lattes and impulse kindle purchases, etc)...
