Well, before NoS I never planned much about meals and I ended up eating a lot of fast food! So, yes, I do make sure I take enough to work for lunch, and make sure I have food in the house for dinner. Otherwise I end up starving and that is when I would be most tempted to snack or go to McDonald's! T...

Speaking of tough, it's been a rough week. Nothing particularly bad, just a lot going on. It's always like that this time of year so nothing to do but 'Hold tight and pretend it's a plan' 8) That's what I intend to do anyway. And laundry. Must do laundry. Haha I could have written this post exactly...

Simpless, 5 pounds in 1.5 months sounds pretty awesome! Those are pounds that won't come back, they were slowly lost as your body adjusted to regular mealtimes. NoS is S-L-O-W, and that's one of the things I love about it most! We're in this for the long haul, right?

Kookie--your mum sounds bipolar!!! That description really fits.

I think you should go see your brother by yourself!! That way you won't resent not getting to see him, but it will be on your own terms apart from the strings attached of going with your Mum.

Hi eschano, I think you and I definitely NoS kindred spirits! :) I mostly say that because we both share a profound gratitude that NoS works for us.... and is enough for us. It doesn't seem to give everyone peace with their eating as it has for us (for the most part, of course). I suspect that part ...

Oolala, I started NoS looking for a way to end my mindless snacking. It worked like a charm and for many months I thought I was "over" that. Interestingly, just yesterday I had to fight my emotional eating demons. I think I lost, in that although I didn't technically overeat, my only motivation for ...

My thoughts are with you while you deal with this family loss.

I've seen many on this forum find stability in the routine of NoS during stressful times, and I hope that is what happens for you.

I'm embarrassed to even suggest this, because it reveals my own unhealthy eating habits--but I don't gain on the weekends because I eat the stuff that I crave as an actual meal--not in between. So I end up foregoing much regular food (e.g. lasagna), and instead just have a milkshake for dinner. Hehe...

I have noticed a pattern in which I am not overly hungry for a couple weeks. During that time I usually skip breakfast without planning on it. On those days my creamy coffee is plenty. Then I come out of it and I'm ravenous for a few days. During those times I eat breakfast and then my regular lunch...

Grothkat, I enjoy my frequent weigh-ins, for the most part. It's just kind of a habit to weigh in the morning before I get dressed. So I know lots of people recommend breaking the weighing habit, but there are plenty of others who weigh regularly and don't feel the need to "break" that habit (I woul...

7 weeks, that's great, Simpless!

Just a heads-up, I do remember having a few tough spots in the 6-8 week stretch...where my snacking urges came back a little bit. I don't know if that happens to most other people or not, but just so you're aware it might be a possibility.

Sweetaj, I LOVE my NoSpending on weekdays plan. It has worked beautifully since the end of December. You can always have built-in exceptions (for example, today I had to pay for a car repair), but the main thing is to get rid of the egregious offenders (like lattes and impulse kindle purchases, etc)...
