What's MFP mean? Oh, I guess you do love coffee! :) I have to admit, I do keep myself to a 4-cup limit. And I make my coffee pretty creamy so it's almost like a meal (the ultimate NoS indulgence is beverages, both of my favorite: coffee and wine). So cool that you are a foster mom! My sister-in-law ...

It's all in where we're taught to find our self-esteem, isn't it? Friday, Week 18
137.7 (that's what pizza does to me NoSnacker--almost every time! It's just water-weight but it's very predictable to me now) 30-second plank walked to/from work (90 minutes) I've been traveling and off from work, so I felt SO sluggish walking in. Good stuff, though. B: whole milk latte, oatmeal L: ...

Hi Joasia, Your check in doesn't always make it clear to me if you had a "green" or "red" day. Also, it looks like you have not been walking daily....maybe once or twice a week? So, look back over your checkins/habitcal or whatever you track your habit with..... have you had more than a few reds eac...

Thursday, Week 18
137.5
coffee with milk
L: minestrone soup, egg on toast, toast with butter, orange
D: pizza, diet coke
NoSnacker, I think Reinhard is working on a book about habits in general, but I'm not really sure.

That is funny, NoSnacker! I have never been a super-perfectionist about house-cleaning, but I will tell you I had a problem with wanting things truly squeaky clean, and not getting to the basic clutter, etc., because I was so busy scrubbing the floor and shampooing carpets. I have stopped so much of...

Thanks for the post, middleeager. The rule doesn't apply to me. :) I am at work much of the day, however, so I have time during breaks to post for NoS, etc. BUT, I am thinking that I will have to decrease my screen time too, since the kids won't be occupied with their own electronics. I have a feeli...

I certainly can't speak much to French society, but I will comment on one question I had while reading the article: What kind of "careers" are we talking about that you have to be skinny (and well-dressed) to get in France? Because the article seemed to be referring to business, if I read correctly....

This post may be long, but I felt I needed to put some of these ideas on "paper" (ha) as I try to formulate further use of NoS principles (that is, habit-living) to other areas of my life. My previous post discussed the actual method we will be implementing for January (I would start today but we wi...

Been doing thinking about NoS principles in other areas of life (can't wait to read Reinhard's new book about habits). Electronic use (TV, TV games, ipads, kindles, and laptops are all in my home) are a constant issue for me and my kids. How much to use, when, how to earn time, how you lose time, an...

I remember you mentioning you have generalized anxiety. Do you take any medications for that? I am so not normally a proponent of them, but I know you work your tail off for moderation and balance, all that good stuff, so perhaps a nice anti-anxiety medication would be perfect until you can retire!!...
