And yes, sugar/processed food addiction is a real thing, in my opinion. I have dealt with alcohol cravings too - and the cycle I see with people & their food versus people & their alcohol are quite similar-looking!

A lot of people start with a built-in 4th meal if they find they are often derailed going down to just 3 meals a day. I think it can work well in the beginning as long as it officially part of your daily plan.

CG - Definitely sauerkraut is a good thing to try for gut issues! Especially if someone doesn't want/is unable to tolerate fermented dairy, sauerkraut is a good option. I truly believe that most cultures had some sort of fermented food in their diet pretty much daily, and we do well to try and copy ...

We were talking about how lucky we are to live so close to some amazing walks and we are keen to discover more. This has been a common refrain in my household, too. It's wonderful to feel that gratitude surge through us for all the loveliness in the world (that we are able to easily reach). Oh, and...

Sounds like you are really listening to your needs, CG. Keep doing that! I personally don't prefer the mod of daily sweets. I know that people fear feeling deprived, but it just takes me a moment of imagining life for people before processed foods to get over that feeling....! In short, I think remo...

Developing a new habit of a short walk after dinner sounds like it could be great for you! Also, when I was first trying to quit drinking wine, I would leave the kitchen - take a bath or a walk, get going on laundry, etc. Staying away from the kitchen/couch area was imperative. Good luck finding a s...

And it warmed my heart to see how you learned from your "younger" self entries and you are valuing "progress over perfection" and being gentler to yourself.
