Hi Maggie, I'm glad you made it back to us. You can do this, it's just that it doesn't come to us in one fell swoop. It takes a lot of time and and effort. Most of us have had many false starts and that's ok. It's all part of the learning curve. So, today you just take it one hour at a time. If you ...

How can we live better?
Found this guy today: https://jamesclear.com/ Some of what he said resonated with me and thought someone else might find it beneficial. I bolded the most significant part to me. If you want to become significantly better at anything, you have to fall in love with the process of doing it. You have to...

Oct 23rd: 1 small bowl of chips/ 1 small glass wine Still struggling to keep my motivation where it needs to be. I did run yesterday so I'm feeling pretty good about that. In terms of diet I think these are the area that I need to tackle. 1) leaving the table just a bit overfull 2) Impulsively putti...

HI Lovedby2, It's nice to see you back. Honestly, I find it shocking how few calories I need in a day. In my case, I've has a slow but steady steam of reasons change my diet (blood work results showed sugar too high, then later cholesterol too high.) As a result of those dietary changes, the number ...

I don't know if it helps but the tact I've taken is to say nothing until the subject of diet/eating/health comes up then I say some version of, "What I do is. . . " without ever suggesting that they do the same. That way it's just a conversation and they can take or leave what they want from it. It ...

I gave up on trying to lose a good amount of weight before my sister comes to visit but am hoping my house can look nice. I even hired a decorator which isn't as fun as it sounds Hi Linda, this actually makes me a bit sad. Do you have to impress your own sister? I'm sure the decorator is actually n...

oolala, I'm about to steal your thread for a quick minute. Hope you don't mind Linda said, . I was like geeesh, it's not like they're from ikea or target or something. They were pretty costly and I think they're nice. If you like them, keep them. She only makes money by convincing you that her taste...

Funny how we can feel so "solid" for a long time then something comes along (or seemingly nothing) and we're back on shakey ground. I've heard recovering alcoholics talk about this. Apparently, you're never free from the possibility the old urges will resurface it's just that the longer you can resi...

Should be a success, but can I just put out there how hungry I am! I am about to go weight train but all I'm really wanting to tear into a bag of pistachios. I need to remind myself that hunger won't kill me, and that I did eat plenty of food today so I won't be low on energy for my workout. You pr...
