Well here it is from the HIGH to the LOW. Yesterday was truly an S day gone wild  As with last Sunday, everything seems to go reasonably well until after dinner, when I start to have "Last Supper" syndrome. Then I end up feeling stuffed, totally annoyed with myself, and sleeping poorly. This i...

habitualrunner's check in for s days

Great, great S today. Saturdays are my long run day (I run marathons) and so it's so great to be able to feel free enough to eat enough fuel and not feel guilty! I felt energized on my run instead of drained by it. Breakfast: Grapenuts, whole banana, whole goat's milk, coffee During run--powerbar an...

Blueskighs- I have thought about you many times this week, wondering if you were okay. I'm so sorry that something happened to hurt your feelings and make you feel unwelcome on these boards. Although I'm a relative newcomer to NoS, you were DEFINITELY one of the main reasons I joined on. Clearly you...

Thanks LA_Loser! Tomorrow is another day. I couldn't sleep very well last night, so I was up rereading Reinhard's book. I had an aha moment--he's got some great insights in there! Here's what I read (p. 143): "I messed up. I'm trying to [maintain my weight and my new habits], but I ate an [extra, un...

an extra check in and a related question

This was the first day in almost six weeks that I came DANGEROUSLY close to throwing in the towel and eating everything that wasn't nailed down in the pantry. Yes it was an "S" day, but the only thing that stopped me tonight after a good sized dinner and dessert (and more dessert) was Blueskigh's qu...

Thanks so much for these posts. I was totally torn about today (like Debs). I thought I could make it just another N day, since the weekend starts tomorrow, but with all that candy spread over the table tonight while my kids examined their loot--it was a little too much for me. Then I planned to sti...

Five weeks on No S and still going strong. Tonight was a little rough (the pantry was calling . . .)! I think I didn't eat quite enough during the day and I really wanted to snack after dinner. But knowing that I was going to be reporting on five green and yellow weeks pulled me through. I drank som...

Well said gingercake! Just last night my DH was teasing me a little saying "why can't this be an 's' day? Every day should be special!" Next time he says something like that I'll say what you say: I CAN have anything I want. But I'm not going to. It's important for me to maintain the sense th...

Blueskighs, How awful for eating disorders to be on the rise in young mothers--I can definitely relate to that statistic. But I wish I could get the word out to them that sanity is available in the form of No S! I was feeling a little lonely last night (my husband travels a lot for business) and I t...

Wow! It's been four weeks. I really love No S. While I don't make many posts on these bulletin boards, I really feel supported by this whole community. Before No S, in the last year eighteen months or so, I had begun to fear that I was developing a binge eating disorder. Nothing I was trying was hel...

Hi janie-

You're signature quotation gave me good cheer this morning! Being fit and healthy are VERY worthwhile, but not always so easy to achieve . . .

BTW, if you're craving something sweet do you just make room for raisins on your plate? I'll try that today!

I guess I'm officially a member of the 21 day club. I'm feeling pretty good about it, but I certainly miss having a little something sweet at the end of each day. Did any of you count Columbus Day as an "S" day? BTW, thanks gratefuldeb for the kind words from last week! And you are exactly ri...

Two weeks of all greens and yellows! Except for one slightly uneasy S day this weekend, I'm really pleased with myself and the No S way of life. I feel well-nourished and have learned some tricks of the trade. I find that healthy beverages like kefir, coconut water, and milky tea make a big differen...

Thanks for joining in a discussion with me. Something about being able to post a note/question here in this forum in the middle of the day really turned my day around. I even went out to dinner with friends tonight and had a wonderful Peruvian meal. On the drive home I thought about how I technicall...

Hi play-outside, Let's here it for the locavores! We too belong to a wonderful CSA and I know what you mean about thinking about food a lot and making plans about how to use up the wonderful bounty from the farm. The freezer does help, but sometimes I find myself saying "it's okay" if some of the ex...

Question from a semi-lurker

Hi all- I'm almost two weeks into my No-S life. So far, so great! But today, an S day for me, I've felt a little out of control. I'm not comfortable with "unplanned eating." How do all you pros keep S days from being all out binges? (I'm especially asking those who have a history of binge eating.) I...

Habitualrunner's Weekly Check-in

This first week's been a success. HabitCal shows all green and yellow. I'm so grateful for Reinhard's inventions. No S doesn't seem like a "diet" at all. I haven't stepped on the scale either, I'm just focused on developing my good daily habits.

What a welcoming community!

This is the end of day number 3 and I'm as happy as a clam! No S is working beautifully for me and I'm totally into the HabitCal. I agree with howfunisthat about not wanting to mess up a string of greens on the calendar. Anyway, what made me even happier tonight was that I finally figured out how to...

I've been struggling to find a plan I can stick with day in and day out, over the LONG haul of my life. The NoSDiet is simple, elegant, and intelligent. I'm eager to give it a go. Thanks! :D
