Celebrating weight milestones seems to paradoxically set me back mentally. Like, my brain might get the message that "this is all set, I can relax now" or even "I deserve a treat!" I hope that when I get to a nice maintenance weight, I can just think about the habits and decouple them from worrying ...

Red day yesterday. We did a tasting menu at a hot restaurant. I've had them before where they are tiny portions for each course, but this place did not use that logic, and each of the 5 courses was about half a dinner plate. Lesson learned. This is not likely to happen a lot because while it was del...

Comfort myself - read a book from childhood or watch a movie from childhood. Or, alternatively, read a book that isn't heavy lifting - for me, that's sci fi or romance or graphic novels or humor. Still truckin' along. After two months of no weight shift, I seem to have moved down a pound. At least I have stayed under 160 for 5 days and the trend is showing that also. Congratulations to you on developing strong habits and making progress! I am still working on getting consistent. I am pretty good about eating 3 meals and keeping it to one plate. I like to cook, and I always eat breakfast with my kid, so that part came naturally to me. I try to make a good 1/2 or ...

173.5 today. Green yesterday, and no real desire to eat between meals. I did have a glass of plain kefir when I got home with the groceries, which helped fortify me for putting away the groceries without eating them. Last week, at our school's big potluck, I had the first occasion when a person told...

175.5 today. Managed to stay green yesterday, including having water at the movie theater, but no snacks. Victory over bad habits! It was a weird day for eating - we ate a late breakfast due to the snow day, and after the movie, I had a reception for work. I ate 3 hors douvres as "lunch" at the rece...

Re: a victory for the resistance
yesterday was a good, compliant day. Not to be hyperbolic, but I was STARVING between meals. We usually eat dinner around 7:30 pm, but yesterday, I was going strong in the kitchen at 6:10 pm and I really piled that plate with food, a lot of it leafy. This showed how lax I have been in recent weeks ...

175 today. Fail yesterday was peanuts while cooking dinner. Today will be tough for green because I'm at home for the blizzard. So far, I am okay, but we'll see. I always want to eat a lot on snow days. March 2018 ✅ ⌠âï¸ âï¸ âœ… ✅ ✅ ✅ ⌠âï¸âï¸ âŒ 13 14 15 16 âï¸ âï¸ 19 20 21 22 23 â...

Thanks, ladies. I'm going to aim at fewer choices (not ten) and be more thoughtful before buying how something could fit in so that making an outfit isn't like planning a raid on the enemy camp. I'm even contemplating down the line decreasing the color palette. I said JUST contemplating! It's proba...

This is a really poignant and beautiful entry. Even though I am short, I relate to the feelings of your post. I have found that over time I have grown to have gratitude for my body for what it does for me and I appreciate my strength and health and that is far more valuable to me now than being sve...

I eat yoghurts on N days as part of meals. They sometimes have some sugar in, but it's no sweets not no sugar and I generally wouldn't consider a fruit yoghurt a 'sweet'. I do stay away from yoghurts that are flavoured chocolate, toffee, caramel etc. I eat yogurt all the time on N days as parts of ...

weight and shame
I remember being in my 30s, and my weight at the time hovered around 150-155 lbs. I was ashamed of that number and my body. Looking back, I had no models of what normal weight should be for my height. I only heard about the weight of models (clearly underweight) and runners (same). I like to read Ru...

Oh. My. God. I have literally just realised that though I have been thinking I’ve been eating massive portions... I have not been having seconds! So probably eating the same amount in total. The difference being that I can can now see how much I’m eating. A revelation!!! LOL. I realized after I...
