Is coffee a snack?

I just don't know what to do about coffee. I love it, and I have two large cups every morning. I don't count this as a meal or as a snack, since the amount and preparation is a constant, and I really don't see any good reason why I should stop -- I can lose weight despite the coffee. But in the afte...

At work, every day I am amazed at how much chocolate I am not eating. To get to the ladies' room, the coffee machine, or the exit, I have to walk past TWO coworkers' candy dishes. They are usually full of something that I like. The best thing to to in this situation is to try not to think about the ...

My excESSive Sunday was truly damaging, I'm afraid. Had lost almost 7 lbs, now after 2 good N days, still only down 5. Still, better than nothing... I read with interest the thread about out-of-control S days, and I think I do need to implement some kind of strategy, if not actual "rules." The trick...

It might be a nice Sticky thread, actually. I've been doing No-S and Shovelglove, and also riding an el...

On N days, I find it very satisfying how easy it is to remember what I ate, and how brief the descriptions are. This is in stark contrast to some S days, like yesterday, when I ate seven? or perhaps nine? cookies and some undefined amount of cheese popcorn, and some undefined amount of goldfish, and...

Unfortunately, I was a huge idiot today. I know why: I just didn't deal with emotional issues in a responsible way. My husband woke up on Saturday really, reallysick, which meant I had to take care of our three-year-old boys by myself pretty much all weekend. They ran me ragged. When there's just on...

I think I'm going to change this to a weekly checkin (can I change the name?), because I don't have that much to say each day! I feel so comfortable with this diet. I am hungry right now, and I usually get hungry about two hours before each meal. Then I drink some unsweetened hot tea or water, and I...

Julie,

Your plan sounds like a good one. Again, I know how frustrating it is when things don't go as you had planned, but try not to beat yourself up too much. Almost all of the time, you're very successful. So you're not a robot...well, that's OK! Good luck tomorrow.

Julie, From my point of view, it doesn't really sound that bad. OK, one snack, not a huge one at all. And you DID get some exercise. Some days I find I am totally dragging for no apparent reason -- I always think of them as "low energy days" -- but I figure maybe I just need a break. I'm hoping you'...

This is a good idea for a thread.

Some lunches that have worked for me: peanut butter and raisin sandwich on whole wheat plus a large apple. Also a cheese sandwich on whole wheat with fruit.

The idea of having several things for lunch is good; psychologically it feels more like a meal.
