If my understanding of New York baseball is accurate, Deb could be a Mets fan. But it is impossible to be both - if you are a Yanks fan you hate the Mets, and vice versa.

I think I'll add that my loss has been over a period of about a year and a half. I still have a little ways to go, though, but I certainly have not had any significant gain in a long, long time. So it's coming off slowly and steadily, and staying off.

Swimming is great exercise. I wouldn't throw others out the window though, the one problem with swimming is that it isn't weight bearing. Weight bearing exercises (such as walking) can help prevent osteoperosis and stuff like that, so I think your triathlon mix is a good thing. 8)

Betsy, Yep, been there done that. I know exactly what you mean... it is very difficult to be around food - especially good food - and not resist! What hs helped me - very surprisingly - is buffets. Pre-No-S, I'd get up for plate after plate, and of couse dessert too. And feel grotesquely stuffed aft...

Okay, time for the mid-week checkin. Monday: Success! Tuesday: Success! Wednesday: Er.... Well, Wed. wasn't too bad, but that lunch buffet did me in. Didn't have seconds, but I did have a piece of apple pie-like stuff. (Kind of like a mix between apple pie and a breadstick, if you can imagine that.)

Welcome, Sybil! I just spent some time in Canada myself - Alberta thru western Ontario, and with that trip I've finally hit all the provinces. I had been to Vancouver in the past, it's a pretty neat city. Gas sure is expensive, though. :shock:
