Strong hormone driven cravings are difficult, sometimes planning in advance how you are going to deal with them helps.

If that involves eating something sweet the fact it was a planned action can stop it turning into a mental fail and thus it doesn't spiral outmof control.

I made it and my mum noticed that I ate a lot less so I explained NoS to her. She said it sounds healthy but wouldn’t work for her which is unsurprising given her disordered and obsessive eating patterns. (Years and years of calorie counting) She is a good example of someone who got tiny with cal...

Ok Hope this doesn't seem to harsh but in the hope it makes you think :) Fasting to eat a big meal later doesn't make sense. Using food as a reward is something you need to leave behind. Food should be used to satisfy hunger and your bodies needs. Fasting should be done for health reasons with a nic...

Not shameful to write about your alcohol habits. However I would be slightly worried if you can't manage without, purely from concerns over addiction. I like a drink and still overdo it on occasion to the extent I make myself ill but I don't have any trouble not drinking on a normal day. I wish you ...

Hi Soprano - your sister's results are unfortunately typical. I am convinced that practising maintenance and permanent habits on the way down has a better chance of leading to permanent weight loss. I absolutely agree. She still has that deprivation/ treat mentality. We are going away together soon...

My sister has been following slimming world. She's done really well getting to goal. Two weeks after reaching goal she's put 5lbs on!

It won't be all fat I'm sure but just typical of what dieting the traditional way does

You have to be realistic and put it in perspective. That on its own will have very little impact just carry on and you'll be fine :)

Habitcal is great, I used it in the beginning but had a few special days and holiday would definitely have been yellow. I never think of calories anymore, what a relief that is. Apart from the rules I don't limit any food group, eat whatever I want cooked as I want. However I do eat good food, organ...

I brought my son up on water and milk and his teeth really benefitted. Stick to your guns your kids will thank you when they are older. They will also soon learn you mean it and stop whining :)

Great to hear from you and sounds like the holiday did you a lot of good. I'm not sure forcing two snacks is a good idea, whilst I understand your concerns about compulsion and disordered eating I would have thought only having them if you are hungry would be more of a normal reaction, some days you...

Why not try 3 small meals a day for a week, perhaps your body is going through some hormonal adjustment and needs a little more, when you then return to IF it might kickstart it in to losing again?

You've done so well and the end is in sight, try and relax into it, easier said than done I know

Difficult one: Give them tap juice :) Perhaps one snack a day if they are with other kids? I think children might need to eat more regularly than adults as they are constantly on the go and growing. More important to develop the habit as they get older so they carry it into adulthood I wouldn't stre...

Whoosh

This is interesting and not something I'd heard about but does sound feasible

https://www.theswitchplan.co.uk/the-whoosh-effect/

It actually explains a lot about my weight loss patterns now and in the past.

Just keep going....

I've tried it but really struggled to lose weight and in fact my weight increased. However I think the years I spent reading about it and trying it have helped me with emotional and binge eating. I just feel I need a little structure to my eating which nos gives me. I also found it difficult to reco...

Seems like you have developed a good attitude to binging, some random thoughts re the cause: 1. Time of the month looming 2. Are you eating enough during your eating window 3. Do you feel you are depriving yourself of anything 4. What are you binging on, perhaps lacking something in your diet You'll...

Re: Drinking my calories is my problem

Hi everyone, My problem, however, is liquid calories. I normally drink 2 glasses of wine, or 1 large glass, in the evening, and I am kind of addicted to these Starbucks doubleshot espressos, with 140 calories each. I also like whole milk lattes. I drink 3-4 doubleshot espressos each day, and all th...

I bet your sister's life isn't as perfect as it seems.

It's your life , live it and enjoy it, perfection is not a prerequisite to happiness....
