Thank you; I now know more things than I did earlier. This is always good. I've never had any of those symptoms from giving blood (nor with dehydration after a session), just a general weakness (presumably from lack of oxygen to the cells or the heart working harder) which eating has always dispelled.

I think the reason that no-one loses them (unless, like me, it's because they've never heard of them) is because they promote a goal-oriented way of thinking rather than focusing on the process, which is largely what this is about.

As a by-product of my healthier eating habits, I tend to find that, even if I do get hungry before it's time to eat, there's nothing in the house that I can quickly render edible becuase it all requires cooking or preparation in some form.
