Actually, there are probably a fair number of women who need to eat that little or even less to lose weight. Tough to take, but true. I would probably have to, especially since I have lost weight, so it takes less to sustain me than if I had never lost. (When I looked at BLE, they were saying 1100 c...

Not caught up on everything, but dropping in anyway. Have to say from my perspective that your guest may have thought she was doing a favor by throwing a few items in with hers in the dryer. If she doesn't have a lot of clothes that need special treatment, she might have had no idea. I bet she feels...

Re: automated eating tracker

I sure have missed a lot, but will jump in any way. I took a webinar recently on dealing with past negative influences and it seemed to me that the teacher/therapist (he deals mostly with addicts) implied that the most important work to be done is on this side, meaning with oneself. So even if the o...

I'll vent a little here but have recently been perturbed that in order to be smart about what, how often, and how much we eat. we have to contend with so much. I,too, don't want to be the wet blanket, and used to eat with gusto and much admiring of the usual suspects of dietary indiscretion at socia...

Hi, Candace. I, too, will not have read all your posts but wanted to respond to one you left on my thread. Yes, I had what I would call great success on No S for years. Great success for me was reducing my compulsive overeating and finding an eating plan that gave me pleasure and pep. Some sacrifice...

Not to discourage you, but making better habits and "getting this weight off" can be loosely related. Depending on sustained, linear weight loss (or large losses) can derail better habits. (So many people leave because No S didn't get them weight loss at a rate they wanted, with no mention of any ot...

Just to add, you can sabotage No S with the attitude you talk about as well. By the way, you are not alone in the kind of reaction you are talking about. It's actually typical for dieting, that is, to respond to slips by going off the deep end. It's called officially the 'what-the-hell" syndrome and...

I had my turnaround when I saw that my compulsive overeating was as painful as it would probably be to say not to urges to overeat. I was lucky that the No S plan was so pleasurable for so long.

But I want to say that it definitely took discipline at times.

After nearly 8 years of a lot of success, I have had some trouble recently, but I'll talk anyway. Heartful post about reflecting on your comment about your overweight doctor. It's quite a societal habit. I think fat is less of an issue than overeating is.
