Yesterday (Monday) Exercise - 15 minutes of stretching. Not ideal, but acceptable. However, I also hit 10,000 on the pedometer just from running around. Br - 1/2 bagel w/cream cheese, banana, 2 CaL L - Veggie sandwich, chips, apple. (Rather a nasty veggie sandwich - a real disappointment. At least o...

Well, this was NOT a good weekend. I started on Friday, and did NOT end on Sunday. In between, I ate a lot and sat a lot (going to my parents for Father's Day, and sitting to talk to them.) Plus work stress from projects-that-must-be-done-over-the-weekend. I did get in a Saturday yoga class, and som...

Good to see you! This doesn't sound like leaving No-S to me (at least, not unless you're ADDED Snacking, Seconds, and Sweets - and it doesn't sound as if you are) as much as just "paying more attention to what you put on your plate." Which is smart. :) I don't officially do low-carb, but I tend towa...

I'm sorry you're having a hard time. At a very dark time in my life, I was assigned the task of finding "5 good things" in each day, no matter how small. (Originally it was 10, but I felt that was asking more than I could do.) It was a powerful assignment, because it made me LOOK for "something good...

Most of my food is home made, from scratch. Much of that comes from my garden. We keep bees, and are working on our backyard orchard. When I asked about "enough real food", I was thinking in two directions: 1) Are you eating enough? A number of people (me included) who were used to snacking (or die...

More external support for No-S
According to this article, getting all your food on one plate instead of going back for seconds can result in 14% less food eaten.

It's called No S Catch Phrase Glossary (add yours!) and it's the very top sticky on the general discussion board. Lots of fun there. The "Just for Decoration" bit is on page 2 (at least as I have my preferences set for # of messages), over half-way down. If I knew how to link to that particular spo...

Graham, you are so hard on yourself! Read back over your own journal. You have come a long way in terms of your original goals. And, there are times in our busy/stressful/complicated lives when just not gaining is a triumph. My advice to you (totally unsolicited, of course!) - Be gentler with yourse...

Thursday night ended up being tuna melts, peas'n'carrots, and apple and pear slices. Plus a glass of wine. And then 4 cookies from the pan I was baking for a potluck tonight. Fail. Thinking of you in your loss. What a wonderful paragraph you wrote about this marvellous woman that left an imprint on your life and seems to have lived her own in such a way that she was an inspiration. If I think too much about how much I am eating now, it seems like so little compared to preNoS days. If I had started NoS with the amounts that now satisfy me, I wouldn't have made it past the first few weeks. It has been a wonderful, glorious process. This is SO TRUE - and beautifully put. I think...

Nicest, you may be on to something. I'm not sure I think about food LESS on No-S as much as I think about it DIFFERENTLY. Keep at No S. What it takes to feel full will decrease. And you will like it less. That's SO true. That's what you ("generic" you, not "you" specifically) start to realize when "over the top" S-days are contrasted with how you feel on N-days... Your body starts giving you clear feedback, and you be...
