Hope you're feeling better, Debs - and that the work/finances sort themselves out soon. And that is fantastic that you still kept to your resolve not to snack at night despite the difficult circumstances. Good for you.

Hi Deb, well...I'm not proving very regular with it! My workload/home load is out of control at the moment and its making it hard to develop routines. I keep forgetting that I am supposed to be meditating every day. But I will do better! I want to schedule in better exercise routines too. They've go...

Hi Deb, The "myths" are interesting... I was listening to a program on the radio yesterday - an interview with a science writer, Jennifer Ackerman. She's written a book called: "Sex, Sleep, Eat, Drink, Dream - A Day in the Life of your body" http://www.abc.net.au/rn/lifematters/stories/2008/2397690....

I agree with KCCC. Don't worry too much about the scale at this point - that could just be fluid fluctuation or whatever. Just focus on the habit building and the freedom that gives you around food. It seems like this is a stressful time for many of us on the list for one reason or another and that ...

That's good to know, thanks. I've only recently tried making pastry and I've never tried to make bread. It's a good time to start! I really like the idea of making those things from scratch - not just to avoid the preservatives, etc, but also because I'm often pottering around the kitchen and I love...

I find that the cooked oatmeal isn't all that filling. It works better for me if I just soak the oatmeal overnight (or soak several days worth at once) and mix it with seeds and/or nuts and dried fruit, then eat it raw. I prefer the texture, but it also fills me up much better. I agree with Deb abou...
