This is what blew this whole thing up for me a few years ago. I got down to a lean, fit-looking 165 and thought "that was easy. It's easy to lose weight. I don't have to worry. I can eat what I want, then lose it later!" 30 pounds later, I was starting over. :( Reinhard got it right: maintenance is ...

2/24 NoS, SG, UR. Rain, rain, go away, I'll have to walk some other day.

So I noticed I'm down 10 pounds in seven weeks, which is pretty respectable. I guess I don't have to worry that I'm still eating too many calories.

Also, if you hit the Quote button, then press the browser's back button, the press another post's Quote button, it will put the second post in, too (see below). You may need to re-arrange the end quote tag, sometimes the 2nd one ends up after the first one, so it becomes a quote within a quote... Se...

Like that? That which is between the quote and the /quote tag is editable. Quote it, then delete what you don't want. I usually use three periods on a line to indicate that I snipped material out.

Just do it. But have things to keep you busy after supper. Idle hands are the biggest evening problem for most of us. And remember this: you can go to bed a touch hungry. It really won't impact how you feel in the morning. Why make your body turn food into fat during that stretch of time? ...so what...

Re: Neglecting the Scale

Great plan, SF. In my past goes at No S, I overemphasized the scale and de-emphasized the habits as a means to an end. I now realize how backward and typical this is, and have resolved NOT to look at the scale until 4/2/11. Not only is it a Saturday, it avoids checking on April First (because this t...

Re: Will I ever do it?

Is it because, as you previously reported, you are too hungry at 11:00 am? Did you make any adjustments for that? NoS is simple, but it's not always easy. Maybe you should consider working in some food at mid-morning until you can get past this. A small, planned fourth meal is better than ravenous h...

Re: Help! Newbie having issues

If you can, find yourself something compelling to do. Idle hands being what they are, you don't want to be idle. My desire to binge comes and goes. It did even after a year or two. It would usually surprise the crap out of me when it resurfaced. For me, the trick is to remember that it will pass, wh...

Re: Another Reason 14 Minutes can be so Good

Good thoughts. Further, the 14 minute rule is one I often apply to things I don't want to do: I'll spend 14 minutes cleaning the basement. If usually turns in to much longer, but I can commit 14 minutes without feeling the need to procrastinate. I have been really thinking about the 14 minutes of AN...
