I'm glad you faced the bills and found your fears to be unfounded. I've been having anxiety too-- do you think it's the time of year? <G> This morning I started with a thing I had been avoiding, and I feel better. Whew. I like Mint for doing the money, but it doesn't write the actual painful checks....

Hey, all. Now combining NoS with 16:8 intermittent fasting. It is easy thanks to the 8 months of training in not snacking. I still keep sweets for the weekend and I am sort of trained out of seconds too, lol, though that’s less of a temptation when meals are 4 hours apart. I looked slimmer, friend...

It’s not too hard, is it, to go 16 hours if you are used to NoS. I’m definitely noticing some lost inches, although the scale is very slow to move. I remind myself that the longer overnight fasts are thought to be better for health. So even people who are trim do it for health reasons. It seems ...

Last night’s dinner at Wegmans was lovely Broccoli/cheese soup, this yummy raw veggie crunch salad they have, some apple fennel salad (also fabulous), and half a piece of stromboli. We ate at six, and it got me fine through the night. So yesterday I had about 9 hour eating window, and I’m going ...

Oh, keep posting! I think the spirit of NoS is not snacking and eating normal meals. If expanding the hours when you don’t snack works for you, I can’t imagine that anybody would object to your sharing your results. Personally, I am trying to eat in an eight hour window. I think the main advanta...

So last night I had a rough time sleeping. I definitely felt empty, though not hungry per se. I toughed it out, finally slept around 2. Got up at 7 but was able to go back to bed for an hour or two after I got my daughter off to school. I delayed BF till about ten. Lunch at 2, dinner at 6:30. I ate ...

If it helps, all those calorie/timed eating researchers seem to eat one or two meals a day, not to lose weight (the ones I've seen are trim) but to improve health.

Did you see Thor Ragnorok yet? We all loved it :)

Yeah, I agree with this-- the importance of keeping faith with yourself. Either decide it's not worth it (I have done that) or that it is worth it, conditionally (I've done that too.) But to keep trying and failing, ugh. Very hard on the psyche.

I'm listening to the Jason Fung book on Audible and also watching some of the videos on Foundmyfitness, scientist interviews. Interesting how many of those people eat only 1 or 2 meals a day and do 4-5 day water fasts during the year. I am still not feeling ready for a long fast. One of these days, ...

Oolala, I comforted myself with the thought that my S days are Friday and Saturday LOL. I don't like plain milk, but a hot Ovaltine might have been a good way to go. It was cereal and applesauce (I wanted the insulin spike to make me sleep) but it sat there like lead and altogether made me feel disg...

Visited my dear friend and her husband yesterday. Had a totally lovely day, and enjoyed listening to IF podcasts (see above!) on the drive to and from. So I was very determined to keep a decent fasting window at night. But my friends are hobbits, practically (like 5'2" and rather trim) and the dinne...

I app-tracked today as well (and I limited my eating window ala Lpearlmom. I am such a copycat.) I came up around 1950, though I suspect that's very ballpark, as I didn't measure things. I am going to recommit to eating my biggest meal at lunch, and trying for an earlier/lighter dinner. Pretty sure ...

Welcome! Happy Halloween/unplanned-S-Day! All we have left in the house are things I don't care about much. I did discover in my MIL's cupboard some very nice candy I hid there, but I didn't get into it. I'm doing much better avoiding candy on NoS.

In the category of un-asked for advice-- I have found it helpful when something feels out of control, to make a point of slowing down and really enjoying whatever it is. I think it kind of helps shortcut that self-recrimination piece, and, anyway, at least you get to enjoy your nice candy or whateve...

The 3 meal structure of NoS is not that difficult once you get your pancreas trained, so why not NoS while you're making up your mind? Weight aside, you will be doing your body a kindness and building a structure that will make other eating plans easier, if that's what you decide. I've lost only a f...
