You're so right about our bodies being a gift! I have decided to take after you and stop weighing daily so that I can learn to be much more patient and disassociate my weight with how I feel about myself. Something that has helped me along these lines--think about your "self-talk" when you glance i...

Re: Eating a long meal

I am just getting into the No S process and am enjoying the freedom it allows while reinforcing good habits. In going through this, I have a few questions on the single plate thought. For my breakfast and lunch, I usually eat over an extended time at my desk. In the past, I would make oatmeal, then...

I realise I can't fall off the wagon every time life throws a problem at me. Which is why I need to work now to make the habits true habits - so I don't need to think about it and use the automation to get me through the tough times...? True, but sometimes life is--and just because this is how you ...

Welcome to your summer check-in! I hope it goes well for you. Maybe calorie counting for awhile will help you get an idea of a good plate size for the future. (I've found that I had to go to smaller plates for most meals--I definitely don't eat like I did when I was younger, LOL! Sometimes that's ha...

I've just read this entire thread and am so inspired by you, Merry! I am truly in awe of your mindset - your kindness to yourself and your patience with the process are what I really hope to achieve at some point. The weight loss is an amazing bonus, but I am really drawn to your general attitude a...

Congratulations on a new milestone Merry, You've got the habits down pretty well, so progress will resume as well. I enjoy reading your observations. Before NoS I used to get impatient with plateau's but now it's expected every so often. I only need to look at my past couple months' Habitcal's to s...

Another green day. I have been researching blood sugar all day and trying to tweak my plate content as a result. Eventually that milk did make me feel completely better and I was able to wait until 4 hours after breakfast to eat, and I was genuinely hungry. That felt really good because lately my s...

Right now i'm focusing on establishing the basic No-S routine. I've given up on losing weight for now. Some of my plates are pilled with food and that's ok; i plan to address this further down the road.

Posting here because it's3:00 pm. My challenging time of day. This is when I want to get out of control. Posting here instead. I'm thinking that maybe I have a fear of being hungry. Re: Things that doesn't make sense

Almost a week in NoS. I just don't get the following and would appreciate if someone can explain the logic here: - it is ok to fill my plate with junk food, but it is not ok to put some nuts in a second plate and eat healthy food in the first plate instead - it is ok to snack on milk, but not ok to...

But some days you just don't feel it. I'll probably never do it perfectly. Oh well. Still making progress, I think. I think progress is more important than perfection with No-S. Seeking perfection tends to lead to giving up when a person misses out, but progress is forgiving--if you mess up, you ca...

It's interesting to me how many people think that S days are supposed to be free-for-alls in order to be S days. In my mind I can envision a "perfect" S day that looks pretty much like an N day with one or two S's, but I don't think I've ever done that. I don't think "free-for-all" so much as I thi...
