Re: Alene's Check-in

Yesterday didn't go as I had planned. I should give some back story as I begin my journal. I have struggled with binge eating for many years, really as long as I can remember going back to my very early years. I've been fighting it and trying different eating plans all my life. I reached my goal wei...

Re: Alene's Check-in

Automatedeating, thanks for coming by my journal. I've read some of your journal and you are one that has inspired me with your consistency! Thank you for the compliment. The nurse my mom had when she gave birth to me was named Alene. :) Yes, food and eating are really interesting subjects, when you...

Alene's Check-in

Good morning! I've been reading journals this morning and have been inspired by those who have been able to stay the course and be consistent with No-s for so long. I think that many of us struggle with hopping around from plan to plan, looking for the "perfect" one. Simple is good. Simple is sustai...

Back to work today! I didn't get much done yesterday. I had big plans to get caught up on my school work, but I am really lacking motivation in that area. I've been spending too much time on screens, and enjoying that connection to others on this journey. But I need to focus on life and getting my s...

I'm really tuning in to what I like to eat too, and what I don't like that much but always thought I did! lol The too-full feeling is really uncomfortable. It's definitely a challenge to find the just right feeling.

I know what you mean about the planning of our meals now. I want to be sure to feel full and satisfied, and eat what I really enjoy! I love Thai food too. :)

Linda, my mom's nurse when she delivered me was Alene, and she decided she wanted me to have it too! :) I'm sorry the weekend felt a bit off and didn't feel great for you. It sounds like you learned some things that will help you going forward. I bet that after a day on your usual fasting schedule, ...

Sorry the day didn't go as planned. Sometimes it backfires when we consciously restrict. Maybe just think about what your body really wants and needs, and then let it gently move back down to a more comfortable weight. Food and our emotions have such an interesting relationship!

Worth It, it sounds like you and I both eat a similar way. My body is really sensitive to too many carbs as well, and it affects my hunger the next day. I'm experimenting with the right amount of carbs at each meal to give me energy and make me feel good, and also keep me full. I'm thinking I might ...

Soprano, I like your mod. I'm in complete agreement with it, and will do the same if needed. But as you said, so much of it is about taking the pressure off, and giving that permission so you don't feel boxed in by rules that sometimes just don't fit. Linda, it's hard sometimes to let of of the "rul...

Hi Linda,

I'm really enjoying your journal. I'm experimenting with IF too. I'm doing 16:8 but often have a shorter window. I like the flexibility though. Congrats on your whoosh! I love the way that you feel about food and eating now. That's my goal!

I had a much more settled day yesterday. I continue to think about what is going to work best for me, and what my sweet spot is going to be for my eating routine. I may add an optional mini meal after dinner and before bed. I'd prefer to just do the two meals, but I also want to honor my body's sign...

I know it's tough when our kids are moving into their teen years. I had a really tough time too. Alene's No-S Adventure

I've read about No-S several times through the years but after considering it I would always decide that I like snacks and sweets too much to commit! I've decided to do a check-in here for accountability, and to see my No S journey in writing. I started on Sunday, and so far, so good. I've been eating every 2-3 hours for a long time, so the stretch between lunch and dinner is the hardest for me. My workout goals are 5 per week. I'm tracking my ea...

Congratulations! With slower weight loss, you really have to keep the big picture in mind. Thinking about how much you will lose in 6 months, instead of how much you want to lose each week, really does help. Keep up the great work.

Hello, I've been lurking around the board for a few days, and wanted to introduce myself. I'm really impressed with how supportive everyone is, and all the intelligent and sane discussion. I have been a lifelong yoyo dieter, trying every plan that came down the pike. Several years ago I finally deci...
