Happy birthday!

We have very hot Summers here in Perth. My tip is exercise early morning. The evening, even after dark, is often too hot and humid.

I've done this for 3 years and never explained it to anyone, including my family. No one has ever asked a question that couldn't be answered by: No thank you. Yes please. I don't find no seconds to be difficult *except* when I'm eating with others--and a lot of it is just that it's hard if I'm done first and they are still eating. I try to slow myself down--talk more, take more sips of water etc... My husband is naturally slim and always the last to finish his plate...

Hey auto, a one off weight means nothing - it's more likely measuring how much water you've drunk or how salty yesterday's dinner was. I liked oolala's rule about never weighing without 3 green days first.

I've never really stopped, more just had periods where I'm wishy washy (sometimes deliberately) and some failures. But whenever I "get strict" it's always easier each time. All this practice of habits does build up over time, even WITH inconsistency. I find that very comforting.
