I've had similar conversations at work. People can't believe that just eating three meals a day and not snacking could actually make a significant difference. Plus, like you said, our society cannot fathom living without snacks. We might faint and waste away if we don't eat every two hours.

Day 12: SUCCESS Tonight is the first time in two weeks that I'm pouting because I can't have sweets. I really wanted to go out with my family to get donuts, or cookies, or hot chocolate. I'm going to enjoy my S day tomorrow! I'm already daydreaming about what I'm going to eat. I'm starting to have t...

Hi! Glad you discovered no s! I haven't been doing this very long, but it's already making me feel more sane about food. I have a loooong history of dieting/anorexia/bulimia/binge eating. I know what you mean about something in our brains being "broken". Definitely give this a shot! I am a sugar add...

Hi , natj! You're menus always look healthy and yummy! I can sympathize to those of you who hate your jobs. I have had some doozies. I was a music teacher in public schools, grade 6-12 for one year. I thought I was going to kill myself I hated it so bad. I went back to nursing school when I was 27. ...

Thanks to everyone who gives me words of encouragement! Sonya, the pizza yesterday was from pizza hut... I had 2 pieces. Their pizzas aren't really long like some places, so they didn't hang over. :D HOnestly, I also had room for 2 mild wings. Day 11: SUCCESS Today was hard won. I woke up early and...

I had a patient tell me last week about an article on whole milk she read on Forbes (?). We had a conversation about how we shunned it all our lives and now we're learning that it's not evil. I've been a skim milk drinker until recently. I've finally adjusted to 2%. It may take me a while to move up...

Day 10: SUCCESS I have a calendar that I keep in my bathroom that I use to record my weight, or if I'm doing a diet I'll track my success/ failure. I looked through it last night and this is the 4th time this year that I've started no s. I've never had more than3 green days in a row. Here I am ,on d...

Day 9: SUCCESS Lunch was catered.... There were trays of various brownies and cheesecake cut in little tiny triangles. Normally I would have had about4. I glanced at them as I walked past and didn't even consider it. I just thought a simple,' I don't eat brownies on Tuesdays 'and headed to the salad...

Day 8 : SUCCESS I'm cooking dinner now, so I'm going to go ahead and call it success. If I make it to dinner without screwing up, it's pretty much a sure bet. Took my son to an Amish bakery to pick up some early gifts and let him pick out a giant, delicious looking donut. I wasn't even tempted. I ha...

Thanks, Sonya!

My second S day is more calm. After taking our son to the park and walking a new trail, we stopped at a new locally owned ice cream shop and got a milkshake. Gotta get back on the N day routine tomorrow. I'm off work tomorrow, so it will be tough to resist those afternoon munchies.

I took my son for donuts this morning. I had 2.... Would've been satisfied with one. Drank a mtn dew , had a chees...

I made it through the first week with no RED days. So far, November is going great. :D My other challenge will be not to weigh myself this month. I'm just going to focus on building the No S habit. I weighed myself Nov. 2nd, so I have a starting weight. Tomorrow is my first S day! woo hoo!

Maggie Mae's daily check in

Hi! I found out about No S 3 1/2 years ago. I've started it several times, and after I get a RED day I get frustrated and give up. I started a low carb diet a week ago with a coworker, and it is absolute torture! It made me feel like I was going to die. NO energy, people asking me why I was so down ...
