I think it takes a long, long time for the body to get regulated at a new set point. I am a firm believer in the no snacking rule as well as pushing the overnight fast to 16 hrs. I think that has been key to resetting my set point. I also think leaving sugar alone except for rare special occasions ...

How do we know how much to eat at meal times?

It might take a while before a beginning No Ser can accurately judge how much they need to eat at each meal - at least it did for me, and I still get it wrong sometimes. As part of my overcoming bingeing, I have been learning to take notice of my internal cues re eating. There are ways which you can...

I love my sister. And she loves me. But we are so different I am not sure we would even be friends if we weren't related. It has taken years to get to our current state of friendship. And I still wouldn't look to her for approval, although it would be nice to have it. Personally, I am wary of too mu...

I love reading testimonials, so yes please. I had a near miss this morning, part of the reason was a bad nights sleep last night. Generally I turn the lights right down an hour or two before bed, because it helps me to be relaxed and get to sleep more easily. Sometimes I darken the screen if I have ...

One of the reasons I didn't have children was that I knew I didn't have what it takes to be a parent. I don't think that makes me selfish or lazy, just realistic. I am full of admiration for women like yourself who parent, run a home and have paid work as well. It did strike me that being a good exa...

Thanks Linda - it was a good week. I'd like to claim lots of credit for resisting temptation, but in fact overdoing social eating wasn't my problem, and hasn't been since childhood. It was resisting the temptation to eat when I was by myself that was so hard. Still, the rules make it easier not to o...
