Re: ladybird's check in

Not much help, I know. Membership of the working bee has changed over the years. I can only suggest try out your ...

Saturday, May 4 I do NOT want to go through withdrawal again. The first week without alcohol, I had a freaking massive horrible wanna die headache EVERY day. I also don't want to go see the counselor and have them give me a guilt trip for not obviously thinking I should abstain forever. Hi Auto - I've never had addictive problems with alcohol, so nothing to offer there. (I stopped drinking when young because it made me feel terrible).
But I sympathise with your struggles, and wish you all the best with them.

As part of my overcoming bingeing, I have been learning to take notice of my internal cues re eating. There are ways which you can...

I love my sister. And she loves me. But we are so different I am not sure we would even be friends if we weren't related. It has taken years to get to our current state of friendship. And I still wouldn't look to her for approval, although it would be nice to have it. Personally, I am wary of too mu...

I love reading testimonials, so yes please. I had a near miss this morning, part of the reason was a bad nights sleep last night. Generally I turn the lights right down an hour or two before bed, because it helps me to be relaxed and get to sleep more easily. Sometimes I darken the screen if I have ...

One of the reasons I didn't have children was that I knew I didn't have what it takes to be a parent. I don't think that makes me selfish or lazy, just realistic. I am full of admiration for women like yourself who parent, run a home and have paid work as well. It did strike me that being a good exa...

The other night I was at a friends where supper was being handed around, and a slim woman was pressing cake on a woman who wants to lose weight. The latter was trying to refuse, and the former was persisting. Funnily enough, no one bothers trying to get me to eat cake any more (apart from the first ...

Thanks Linda - it was a good week. I'd like to claim lots of credit for resisting temptation, but in fact overdoing social eating wasn't my problem, and hasn't been since childhood. It was resisting the temptation to eat when I was by myself that was so hard. Still, the rules make it easier not to o...

Weekly report: I had 4 social occasions with food this week, so I loosened the reins a bit. So no dishing out all my food at the start of the meal - that wasn't going to work. Instead I had second helpings and second courses where appropriate. However, I avoided the treats, all my eating was meal ba...
