Ok - so this week followed the same pattern as last week. Wednesday turned into a contained fail in the evening after dinner. Thursday and Friday were then spectacular fails. Pangelsue's post about no excuses hit a nerve early in the week - why didn't I follow through?

Pangelsue - thanks for your recent posts on various threads. You have echoed a lot of my recent thoughts - not so much about the baking (I don't bake much so it's not much of an issue. Plus there are always teenage boys around who seem to be able to eat with no consequences!!) - but about the obsess...

Tobiasmom - I have the same problem. I'm always making grand commitments, not following through, staying away for a few days/weeks and then crawling back, because I know this makes more sense than any other eating plan. Like you - I love my life, my girls, my job - but I'm struggling with managing i...

Thank you, rjean and milliem for your encouragement and kind words. However, the problem is not meals - I have good meals which I enjoy and which are satisfying. I am not hungry between meals and, when I am in the right frame of mind, can easily last from lunch at 1pm to dinner at 8pm. The problem i...

Thanks, milliem - unfortunately after my last post things went downhill rapidly.... Wednesday was a fail after all - chocolate after dinner. Thursday was a fail. I went to a funeral and the family gathering afterwards went on longer than planned. This led to disordered eating and a definite fail. Fr...

Well, now I feel left out as I haven't been listening for a while.! I got a bit fed-up with the Clive Horobin storyline (more melodrama....) and then didn't get back into it. Time to catch up so I can join in the conversation, I think :D

Hi Roxy - I know what you mean about the bread. I love bread but try to limit it to one slice a day because it makes a difference to my weight loss. Me too, I've just started to catch up this week but am about a week behind, so I haven't come across the Welsh character or Clive Horrobin yet. Which way do you think the Peggy/Olona (Sp?)/Darryl storyline will go? Are they going to fleece her or would that have too many racist overtones??? :D

Thanks NoSnacker :D It's true that we need to adapt to circumstances. It's also true that we need to know how to trick ourselves psychologically.
