When I was growing up in the 70's, veggies were not half of anyone's plate, unless you count potato salad... I got a chuckle out of that! There was also that wedge of iceberg lettuce... Well, you have been through a lot, no wonder you are suffering from vegetable fatigue! Maybe find some new recipe...

I bet you'll start to see some loss if you stick with it. My metabolism has slowed way down in the past couple of years and I find that if I depart from NoS for a few weeks I gain quickly, and then lose slowly when I come back. I'm just not willing to torture myself with some diet where I feel hungr...

Hi, Kaalii- Thanks so much for stopping by. Yes, what is "normal" today is a very HIGH consumption of sweets. That can't be healthy! I think it's great the we can be proactive on NoS and limit those sweets to a couple day per week, and watch the consumption naturally decrease to truly special occasi...

I love all types of veggies, but I'm so sick of loading up on them in order to lose weight. They're tasty and filling but not really very satisfying in the long run. I think the trick is too keep on trying to find the balance here. You will eventually, if you stick with it. Try to avoid seeing it a...

Merry above said it all! I'll just add that my S days have become a convenience for social events. It's nice to know if I am going somewhere and don't know if there will be a sweet served, or if I'll want seconds of something special, that I am free to have some on an S day. The same goes for a meal...

I would recommend taking all day Friday and Sundays as S days. You don't HAVE to eat any other S on Friday, but I think it might help psychologically to be able to.

Really, if you are having a hard time with NoS, I wouldn't even consider the 5:2 diet. It's probably not for most of us, and doesn't reflect moderation. And one study showed it had negative effects for women. Why not try doing the No Sweets, No Seconds part for a month and go with some planned healt...

I'm doing fine on NoS. I've been trading my S days on the weekend for the following Tues and Thurs's, as lately my social life has been busier on weekday evenings than on the weekends and there really aren't any weekend treats that I've found compelling. It's interesting that a mod for having sweets...

How do you all deal with your salad? Hi Lyn- I have my salad on a side plate if it is only low-starch veggies and up to 2T salad dressing.
