Good to hear that things are going well with you.
I have never been able to stick to a particular calorie count, and by mostly eating a home cooked diet 3 times per day when I am hungry it hasn't been necessary.

Re: Amy's Checking In Again

Thanks for the quote Amy. Another way of looking at it is that promising ourselves that we will behave well tomorrow helps justify our current behaviour today. I used to do that a lot about food.

Re: Ellis tries again!

I have always found that eating 3 meals a day is enough of a challenge. I deal with what I eat at the shopping stage rather than in the kitchen.

Fortunately, my food shopping choices have improved a lot over the years.

Re: The Journey of Tobias and Mom

Good to hear from you again. Some of us are more susceptible to the siren call of tempting food (aka food reward) than others. My guess is it may be at least partly genetic. Unfortunately for us, we live in a world of 24/7 tempting food.

Re: ladybird's check in

Hi Linda - to tell the truth, I would still like to lose a bit more of the weight that has settled around my middle, but maintenance is greatly to be preferred to regain. I've been on antibiotics, which upset my tummy enough that smaller meals more often felt better. Hi Ellis, I've gone from 151 to ...

Re: Ellis tries again!

I will second your comments Oolala. One of the reasons for the normalisation of highly processed food consumption is that some of them have become seen as healthy, whether that image is deserved or not. We all know that some processed food products aren't good to eat in large quantities, but others ...

Congratulations Diego. Your 'small' weight loss certainly much better than the weight gain so many of us experience in our thirties. And as you say, from your height and weight you are already thin. Keep up the good work.

Re: Ellis tries again!

Losing that diet mentality is a big part of making peace with food, but I have found that being consistent with NoS really helps. I also have another No S - no starving.

Making your own version of NoS you can stick with really helps, so sounds like you are on the right track.

It might indeed be possible, as weight maintenance can occur at various body sizes. But the weight maintained might be higher than desired. Anyway, not an experiment I wish to try.

October report- another month of weight maintenance, 133 - 135 lbs. Eating - had been feeling rather hungrier than I cared for, as well as getting bored with my meals. Have had a few more energy dense meals as a consequence, and feel like I have caught up with how much I should be eating. Doing this...

Re: ladybird's check in

Hi Oolala, actually recently I have been just getting really bored with what I was eating. Partly Covid is to blame, as I have been avoiding my crowded local greengrocer where I was buying good quality fruit and veg. The local supermarket just doesn't cut it in that department. I may have to reconsi...

No, there was no failure involving overeating there But undereating at a meal, mainly because I hadn't got my food organised properly is not good either. I am actually starting to feel the need to have a break from my current rather plain and boring diet and do some more maintenance for a few weeks....

Well, it's a work in progress, and I don't want to pretend I have all the answers. SEP report Weight 133 - 135, down a little from August.
