I know you're right. I sure don't expect that it's going to be easy, but I know this is the way to go and I'm going to find a way to make it work.

Oolala, Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm going to look at it the same way when I'm tempted. I'm 53 and same as you, Ive struggled my whole adult life with trying to lose weight, only to end up right where I started, usually plus some. So yes, if I'm ever going to do it, the time is now. Me...

I'm too late to start at the first of the year, but I'm restarting today and want to join all of you in the year challenge. Like some of you have mentioned, I also have gone from No S to counting calories to intuitive eating and round and round I go. No S makes sense to me. It's clear cut. I want so...

Elizabeth's Entries

I started the No S Diet again today after a LONG time away. I don't know when I last visited. But, I'm glad to be back to it and hope to stick around for the duration of what's left of my life. I'm not getting any younger, so it's time I stick to something that makes sense. Did well today, no snacki...

Oolala, Thank you very much for the sweet offer and also for sharing your background. :) I've thought it over and told my husband I'm going to seriously stop worrying over my weight and simply enjoy this life I live. I will practice moderation in eating, but I won't overthink it anymore. I will exer...

Hi MaggieMae, and thank you very much for the welcome! :) I totally understand about having dieted since a young age. Funny thing, I never had a weight problem until (as a teen) I wanted to lose a couple pounds..lost them, then gained back those pounds plus and continued to yo-yo diet ever the years...

LOL on treats coming on Friday! Enjoy! :D I have to say that I had a fail day yesterday because while waiting in line at the grocery store, the milk chocolate/sea salt chocolate bars were on sale and staring me in the face. I'd like to say it was a moment of weakness, but no..It was a downright deci...

Merry, Thank you for your post. I love hearing how things are starting to balance themselves out on your S days. I'm especially glad to hear that you're starting to eat less on N days because feel like I'm way overdoing the meals, though I am using a smaller dinner plate. Still, I'm filling it quite...

Oolala, Thank you for your input. I appreciate your perspective on S days and S's in general. I hopefully will learn not to sweat it when I go overboard on the S's, but will try to keep them in check through the mods, as much as possible. :)

My Confession: Why I'm Adding Mod's to S days

I thought I'd do a "confession" post about these past two S days. Firstly, since I had a fail on Friday, I decided to make Saturday an N day. Then yesterday I realized that I shouldn't punish myself for fail days because I'm just getting started. Also knowing that in the future I will have fail days...

Thank you Oolala, You're absolutely right! I think I'm going to follow this diet "vanilla" for a while and possibly tweak it later if I feel I need to. Thank you for the advice. :)

Oh, and Valentine's Day..my hubby and I haven't celebrated that in years...but I still celebrate chocolate. ;)

I think we're doing the right thing Jessie. I enjoy counting calories in the beginning, then it starts gnawing on me and I'm ready to switch things up. So far, this way is working great! But I've gotta admit, yesterday I had a banana that was almost to the point of going to the compost, so I decided...

Thank you all for your various answers. :) I also enjoy coffee (with cream) early, and usually don't want breakfast until much later. With waiting 5 hours between meals, this will sometimes have me eating pretty late in the evenings. I'm thinking of not eating past 6pm and if I'm not hungry at 5:30 ...

Do you eat at the same time every day?

I am trying to wait until I'm truly hungry before having breakfast because I always seem to get hungry different times of morning. Then I am waiting at least 4 to 5 hours between meals.

What seems to work best for you?

Thank you all for the welcome! :) Oolala, Eating at certain times and not snacking between meals is exactly the way it was growing up, too. Snacks were a real treat, as they usually came around on weekends and not so much through the week. So, this way of eating is pretty much going back to the way ...

Starting fresh

I have been a member here in the past, but with my old diet head, kept flip flopping between counting calories and intuitive eating. This way of eating makes sense to me. I just need to give it a real go and quit with the diet mentality. So, I am starting fresh as of yesterday, in fact. I am ...
