Me too, and it's just not worth it.

If you would otherwise be gaining weight, maintaining it is progress. It is fairly early days on NoS for you, and you may find that things change more than you imagine over time.

Are there any local potters where you live? I have some lovely tiny hand made bowls from a potter. They are the right size for small portions, and are pretty enough to make everything I eat from them seem special. Also, as others have said, you can get pretty little dishes in second hand or antiques...

I love fries, and other than doughnuts, they might be the worst food in the World. I think there are a lot of foods worse than fries -- and even doughnuts for that matter. Have a look here for some examples: http://www.thisiswhyyourefat.com/ That just made me hungry.  ... and made me fee...

Encouraging people to use "the dreaded stairs"

This is a lot of fun, and doesn't quite fit anywhere else:

There are lots of different approaches. I incorporate fruit, fresh or dried, into meals, which provides a sweet flavour in a healthy way. Fruit is also satisfying. Maybe going for a walk when you have cravings, if possible, could help: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/04/health/04really.html Best wish...

That sounds great, but don't put pressure on yourself. We know that you're busy with family and work. If you made some kind of lettercal or colourcal, I'd buy that too. Something to track types of exercise: either colours for different activities, or letters (W for walk, C for cycle, S for swim etc)...

Yes, its relative invisibility in action is one of the great things about No S.

It varies a lot. You might like to know, though, that we get a steady trickle of people coming back to the bulletin board, having got tired of slow weight loss, tried "get slim fast" plans and gained weight before returning to No S. People often say that they wish they had just stuck to No S, becaus...

Soup is very popular with lots of us on the bulletin board. There is a discussion here: http://everydaysystems.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=4531 about how to deal with soup etc within No S. Some people consider a very substantial soup to be a meal in itself, and some consider soup-and-a-sandwich (or simil...
